Great spot few miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stayed 4 nights. There were tents and RVs set up. Spots are big enough for RVs. Lots of locals like to drive thru all hrs of the day that do give you that Deliverance vibe as others commented. Can understand why if you are a single female camper feeling uneasy, especially with no cell service available to call for help. Rangers and local sheriff did drive through a couple times while there. Seems like someone dropped a dog off. Had a collar on, no tags. Would sit by the roadside as if he was waiting for his people to come back 😪👎 He was hanging around camp. Wouldn’t come close enough but a couple local ladies came nightly to see he was alright and give him food.
Used to be 21 days stay now it’s 14. There was a sign on the bathrooms they want to start charging $14 a night, but the voting date said October 31, 2023 and we didn’t pay anything for our stay.

Showed up after eight hours of driving - after less than an hour a group of local hicks showed up with trucks to sling mud at me until I got up and left. I was quite literally run out of a national forest by a bunch of deliverance-like backwoods hoodlums… Avoid at all cost!

The whole place had an abandoned “Deliverance” vibe that made me rethink my plans. Signs on toilets said 21 day camping limit but it just looked like a travel trailer storage lot. National Forest options are close by would definitely recommend over here.

We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon in late March and expected several sites free. But the whole campground was packed with unoccupied trailers, no cars! Only one RV was occupied and this guy had his generator running all night long. The campground rules say: don’t leave your campsite unattended more than 24 hours and generator hours a limited to 10 am to 10 pm. Obviously no one cares about the rules and no one enforces them! We found a spot along the driveway fore the night and left early. No cell service, a little noise from the road.
