Awesome dispersed Camping. Even in early March there was at least one other camper there both nights. Toilets were locked for the winter.
The noise from vehicles passing the mountain cane be heard, but isn't excessive.

We needed a place to overnight not far from the Blueridge Parkway, and this fit the bill. The easiest way to get here is hwy 60. There were about four trailers camped out when we arrived, and a few more came in after dusk. We found a nice level spot under tall pines next to a babbling brook and stone fire circle. No cement pads other than a square foundation one I could see, which would accommodate a tent. Very quiet spot, some might find unnerving. No cell service, no hook ups. Just nature!

This is a free campground I stay at last April(2018) part of the George Washington National Forest. If you're into any camping, fishing, hunting, hiking or just relaxing this is a place you should check out. I did a short video that shows most of the campground - posted under the 'Videos' tab above.
