Do they close for the winter months? If so, when do they close the campground?

A review mentions water available, but would like to confirm... does the dump area have a water spigot for tank filling?

We stopped here for an overnight on our way back to Arizona. it is off season so the place was empty. Flat wide spaces. Dump station and available water. Beautiful views of the sunset over the water. Would stop again. I enjoyed watching the trains. It is a donation campsite they suggest between $5 and $15.

The reviews were rather accurate. What they said about the train noise cannot be played down. The trains were run running all the time. The highway is not far so you get noise from trucks as well. This is a donation based campground that accepts all forms of camp vehicles. We stayed in our 30ft Class C on our way to Wyoming and had a great experience. There are no hook-ups at the sites. There are fire rings and picnic tables at each site and fires are allowed when there is not an active burn ban. The campground is around 4,700ft elevation, so even in late May the temperature was chilly. Views of the reservoir at sunset were beautiful and the only distraction from the peaceful experience was a train going by a few times during.

Great water views throughout and nice level widely spaced camp sites.

A nice spot with nice views. Very few campers this time of year. A little noise from trains. There is a suggested donation of $5-$15 to camp.

Don't miss an opportunity to stay here, it's great boondocking! And when you stay here, be sure to go into Kimball and have a meal or two at Beer & Loathing. They've got really great food and a fun atmosphere. We go there every time we visit Oliver, and our kids (3 & 4) love it too!

As mentioned in other reviews, trains, frequently, lots of them, at all hours, making liberal use of their horns. Donations requested. Nice campsites that fit all sizes of rigs. Our dainty class b had a nice level spot with a beautiful view of the lake. Pit toilets are fairly sparse and a bit of walk from most campsites.
Yes there are trains, so we’ll see how we sleep ;)
