“Awesome view. Right on the lake. It is a muddy road if it has rained or is raining just a heads up. ”

We loved our spot not 20 feet from the shore of the Missouri River. Such a relaxing place just listening to the water. This is dispersed camping with no amenities, which was fine for us as we are fully self sustaining. Phone service was good. The only negative thing we can say is that we were swarmed by mayflies. Took the dog out around 2am to find the camper completely covered. The mayflies swarmed us and our dog. They clung unto the camper until we started picking up speed on I90. Quite the experience. One we will forever remember.

Beautiful spot that feels like you are away from everything yet you are so close. No one else around on a Wednesday night in July.

Awesome spot literally feet from the Missouri River. When we arrived it hadn't rained in awhile. All the roads were dry and cracked(hint, this is a clue). We pulled our 5th wheel up next to the river on a patch of grass that looked doable enough. We knew a storm was due to come through but figured the dirt road should still be passable as long as it didn't do a full day of rain. This was only supposed to be a quick rain as the front came through.
After the rain stopped we had one of those big specialized overland RV with the big mud tires on it go slip sliding down our access road, ooopps. So long story short check my pics and head my warning. Do not stay here if it's going to rain unless you can find one of the access roads that is more gravel than mud. When any amount of water hits the mud it turns into instant gumbo.
Past all that it really is an awesome place and we met some really cool campers of all ages there. Highly recommend.

Arrived on a Sunday night for a place to rest our heads on the way to the Badlands. This area was the perfect spot, right along the Missouri River. Sometimes a fishy smell comes off the river, but for a single night and free, it was a good find!

There is a 7 night limit, and most of the others only stayed for an overnight. The view is great, the road is not paved. Verizon service is decent enough to work. The view is beautiful, and there are plenty of spots!

there is a sign saying you can stay free form a maximum of 7days.
we were 6 rv's far apart for each other! Quit, nice breeze from the river and very quiet.
You can park on the side of the gravel road on the grass by the river.
Highly recommandable.

This is a really beautiful spot. Maybe you will get luckier than I. We had some local young people come by in a hopped-up pickup tuck. It was stressful and they kept us awake.
