We parked our 41’ 5th wheel along the road by the river. Level spot where we stayed hooked. We were the only ones here.

Pretty and peaceful. We were driving late and arrived after dark. The moon reflecting off the river was beautiful. We left after a quick breakfast and walk by the river. The rest stops in South Dakota have a 3 hr maximum for RVs so this was perfect for us since we didn’t want to pay a lot for a campground that we’d just be sleeping... more
Pretty and peaceful. We were driving late and arrived after dark. The moon reflecting off the river was beautiful.
We left after a quick breakfast and walk by the river. The rest stops in South Dakota have a 3 hr maximum for RVs so this was perfect for us since we didn’t want to pay a lot for a campground that we’d just be sleeping at.
There were a handful of other RVs and cars so felt fairly safe.

Super awesome spot not far off I-90. Easy access through small town and neighborhood that lead you out to the river. Super awesome spot not far off I-90. Easy access through small town and neighborhood that lead you out to the river. As previous review mentions if its raining or been raining alot, the ground looks like it could get messy based on the large ruts in mud we saw in several places.
However in on a hot and dry September day it was perfect for us! Clear skies for solar and Starlink and plenty of sites to choose from. Most of them make a loop at the rivers edge so it easy to drive down and scout them. It's pretty flat so you can tell from the paved road which loops have campers and which do not.
We came through on a Sunday evening around 5 pm and there were probably 10 or so others already there which just meant we shared a pull off.

We got here on a Thursday and there were only 2 other occupants. There really aren't many suitable spots for a smaller fifth wheel, but we did get one and it was perfect. I'm just glad it was dry out.

Arrived just before sunset and easily found a flat place to stay in our van just off the dirt road next to the river. Very quiet with two other overnighters over a hundred yards away. Decently muddy and extremely buggy after recent rain. Extremely peaceful! No problem with Verizon service, strong enough to stream movies.

We loved our spot not 20 feet from the shore of the Missouri River. Such a relaxing place just listening to the water. This is dispersed camping with no amenities, which was fine for us as we are fully self sustaining. Phone service was good. The only negative thing we can say is that we were swarmed by mayflies. We loved our spot not 20 feet from the shore of the Missouri River. Such a relaxing place just listening to the water. This is dispersed camping with no amenities, which was fine for us as we are fully self sustaining. Phone service was good. The only negative thing we can say is that we were swarmed by mayflies. Took the dog out around 2am to find the camper completely covered. The mayflies swarmed us and our dog. They clung unto the camper until we started picking up speed on I90. Quite the experience. One we will forever remember.

Awesome spot literally feet from the Missouri River. When we arrived it hadn't rained in awhile. All the roads were dry and cracked(hint, this is a clue). We pulled our 5th wheel up next to the river on a patch of grass that looked doable enough. We knew a storm was due to come through but figured the dirt road should still be passable... more

We pulled our 5th wheel up next to the river on a patch of grass that looked doable enough. We knew a storm was due to come through but figured the dirt road should still be passable as long as it didn't do a full day of rain. This was only supposed to be a quick rain as the front came through.
After the rain stopped we had one of those big specialized overland RV with the big mud tires on it go slip sliding down our access road, ooopps. So long story short check my pics and head my warning. Do not stay here if it's going to rain unless you can find one of the access roads that is more gravel than mud. When any amount of water hits the mud it turns into instant gumbo.
Past all that it really is an awesome place and we met some really cool campers of all ages there. Highly recommend.
