We arrived late, after dark. It was easy enough to check in online, and they left us a map with all of the info on it in their overnight box. The map had the route to our site hand drawn on it. Love that touch. That was really cool.
The Site
—————
We pulled into the site only to discover that about 1/3 of it was on a steep slope. We just dealt with it for the night and went to hook up. Electric and water connected fine, but our sewer connection was at the opposite end of the lot. We would have needed two more extensions on our already extended sewer hose to make that work! After a 7 hour drive, we kind of needed to dump but we didn’t get to. We went to bed because it was late and we were tired.
Que trains and highway noise.
Noise Level
——————-
I somehow missed the fact that this place is right along the freeway and immediately next to a very active railroad. I’ve slept in hotel rooms along the freeway and it hasn’t been a big deal, but this cardboard box doesn’t provide any sound dampening. If you’re sleeping here, be prepared to use your phone’s white noise function because you’ll need it to drown out all of the levels of noise between trains, cars, and j breaking from trucks.
The first night was particularly awful because the site was so unleveled, and it really impacted my quality of sleep. I’ve never woken up sore or had a bad night of sleep in this bed, but that morning I woke up very sore.
Communication
—————————-
In the morning, despite the office being closed, it was easy enough to get a hold of someone and change our site thanks to our map. We were able to move from site 28, which was unleveled and had the sewer line at the wrong end, to site 34 which was very level and had the sewage line close by. This site made a huge difference in our experience.
Facilities
—————-
The map provides the numbers needed to get into the various facilities. While the laundry room did not seem to close all the way to need the code, the bathrooms worked fine.
The bathrooms are older but clean. The showers were toasty warm and had enough space. Everything worked as expected.
The laundry room was a highlight for me. We needed to do laundry, and most places we have been were still coin operated. These units allowed for digital pay and they worked without an issue!
The Park
—————
The lots are kind of close to each other, but everyone in our two days here have been respectful, that is, if we saw them or heard them at all. The fishing pond is pretty, though it looks like their pier collapsed. The playground is central and in maintained condition.
Overall
————
This park is very loud due to its location, and some of the sites are better than others, but the people are kind, management appears well organized, and the facilities are nice.

The atmosphere is lovely. Lots of trees and shade, but our site (40) was not even close to level. We couldn’t even use our front door because we couldn’t get the steps down far enough and did not enough blocks because we were using all of them under the legs.

The positives: Upon entering it appears cute, quaint and country-serene. Has a lovely pond w/fountain, very picturesque, husband caught (& released) 4 blue gills. We were in site 80 (after we asked to be moved) right next to the pond, so a lovely view out the door. Also, we were there for the Arc Encounter and it’s w/in 20 minutes of that. Staff is friendly, fellow that helped us park was very nice. Laundry facilities clean, washers/dryers nicely oversized & worked well.
The negatives: Along the pond, the green grass path was littered with dog poop and duck poop. Don’t walk your dog there. Right behind us was a small swath of trees and I-75. Could not enjoy sitting outside overlooking the pond for the noise was deafening, so we stayed in the trailer. Across and above the pond are the railroad tracks w/trains going thruout the day & night. I’ll take a train over the roaring freeway tho, as at least it’s not constant and is relatively short lived.
The sites are cramped, incredibly close to one another and on all kinds of odd inclines and levels - extremely awkward getting in. And not a bit level. Site 80’s sewer connection was so far from the electrical & water hookups that we couldn’t hook that up for our stay, which was short, thank the good Lord. Had to dump when we departed.
Next to us, in site 79, was a dilapidated dirty trailer w/a long termer. Just looked creepy. There were a few of these around the park. The fellow that helped us park commented “we need to get him outta here”. Yeah. You should do that. Found dirty used Rubber gloves on the ground, felt generally littered & dirty. Dog leashing doesn’t seem to be enforced as we saw dogs running loose and dog poop about. Bathrooms basically clean but old. Faucet in men’s bathroom didn’t work.
We’ve been RV’ing around the country for 3 months and stayed in 31 RV parks. Not once have we had a critter or insect. We had a HUGE COCKROACH in our cupboard the night before we left the RV place. Couldn’t get outta there fast enough the next morning. Oy vey

We enjoyed our stay here while attending a conference at the Ark Encounter. We had a pull through spot with full hook ups, and close to the showers. Very peaceful except for the train - what a loud horn! Great Wi-Fi speed in the early morning, but much slower at night. Would stay here again.

Nice shower house. Site 2 is a pull threw site we had plenty of room for our 30 ft camper . There was no fire pit at this site . There was a picnic table . And was full hook ups . The 40.50 cost per night is with a good Sams membership. When we stayed there were several large 5th wheel . They sell propane on site also. The width of the site could be a little more . The road noise and the with of the site is the only reason it wasn’t given a 5 star. They have great WiFi here also

Not a lot of room at the camp sights as they were packed in tightly. But all through the night the train whistle was so loud (right across the street) and the traffic noise from the highway was enough we didn’t get great sleep. Very nice kids playground, ability to fill up propane and laundry facilities. Just can’t sleep through the noise.

Dangerous animals on site! My child was bit by a cat at the playground. The cat had been hanging out around the office and at the play ground for a few days while we were there. We asked the office to trap and monitor the cat per health department sugestion after ER visit following bite. The camp manager has given us several different stories about having trapped the cat and then not having the cat then her husband taking the cat to his siaters house. When animal control and Kentucky dpt of health talked to them they gave them all different stories too. Bottom line is they are dishonest people and have a dangerous animal on their property. Beware BEWARE!!! Especially if you have children!

We will never stay at this RV Park again. We have never had such a rude manager/owner talk to us the way he did. The last night we stayed, he came banging on our door. We opened the door and he started screaming at us because he did not like the way we parked our Jeep. Due to all the rain and no gravel on the edge of the narrow parking spot, he did not like how we backed up our Jeep to plug in my husband's power wheelchair on the wheelchair lift behind our Jeep. He screamed that we were ruining his campground by parking on the grass. The tires were just on the edge of the grass where the gravel was at one time and had grass growing through the gravel that was left. We could not get a word in. He screamed at us all the way back to his golf cart and then went banging on the door of the RV ahead of us. After he left, those people came out to unhook their setup and towing vehicle. We went over to talk to them. The manager/owner said their towed vehicle was on the grass and they had to move it. Their towed vehicle was also on gravel that had grass growing though the thin layer of gravel. They said they were told the pull-thru site was large enough that they would not have to unhook, which turned out to not be the case, so they did have to unhook. The next morning we talked to our neighbors who were sitting around a fire when the manager/owner was screaming at us. They heard everything and could not believe that he would talk to a customer like that. When we made our reservation by phone the day before we got there, we were told they did not have any 30 amp sites left with sewer hookup, so we had to pay extra for the 50 amp with sewer hookup. When we got there, and during our stay at the RV park, it was less than 1/3 full with plenty of 30 amp with sewer hookups available. If we hadn't reserved it for the 4 nights, we would have gone someplace else. We would not recommend this RV Park to anyone.
