“Ok for isolated tent or pop up camping; sketchy people.”

Very Nice alpine reservoir, long primitive roads with randomly open/closed gates, easy to get lost, not very big camp so reserve online, camp host was a drunk, toilets were nasty, ok for tents but not RVs. Other guests were loud and obnoxious people. No reliable internet. Lack of good firewood, besides nearly useless pine. Don’t break down out here, because the host won’t offer much support and the PGE contractors for this camp are not allowed to give rides out, if you break down. Too far out for AAA, unless you reach a really nice tow driver.

Water was not operational.

Don’t rely too heavily on GPS. You’ll get lost as can be.

Lots of apparent dope and alcohol usage here. Don’t be surprised when fights break out. Don’t expect to see much oversight.

The chipmunks here are strangely very aggressive at this camp. They’ll walk right up to you and eat off of your plate, which obviously is not pleasant.

Good amount of space between most of the sites. Even better walk-in sites behind designated gates.

I would not attempt to camp here with an RV, besides a pop up.

As an aside, this is not a good camp if you and your party get into domestic arguments, because you can’t just walk out of there safely and quickly.

“Ten miles off of the paved road will buy you total solitude! ”

This cg has 10 sites & is operated by PG& E who has a dam on the lake. Water was not working when we were there so they discounted price. Vault toilets and trash service were fine. Tents or rigs under 28ft only. Narrow 1 lane road for about 1 mile before entrance. Middle of nowhere compared to sardine land at Lassen Volcanic Park cg. We were only ones there first night, second night only one other site was occupied. Loved the privacy, but had to drive 10 miles of gravel road to get it. Also some log trucking in area, but we never came across another vehicle.
