What a great find! Quiet and serene. First time camping in Tate's Hell, and I thoroughly enjoyed this spot. No yellow flies to worry about this time of year (November), and aside from seeing a few vehicles pass on the road west of the river in the distance, didn't see another soul the entire time I was there. ATT phone signal was only 1 bar, cutting in/out, but could get a few messages through.
The best route in is from the south from Carabelle. Do NOT follow Google Map's recommendation on any roads that have a "dead end" sign on them. It's not a shortcut because it truly is a dead end, go figure!
clintmorrow would stay here again

“Beautiful but Buggy (YELLOW FLIES)”

Overall it was a beautiful campsite! But... we camped her in late May and the YELLOW FLIES WERE OUTRAGEOUS! We must have killed at least 300 of them and still were under siege from early morning until full darkness (9.00 pm). No significant wildlife, they must be aware of the yellow flies! We would not camp here again during yellow fly season (March-September).
You have to access this campsite using Hwy 67 to Gully Branch Road to Road 3 and then head west. The last road had some potholes, a few pretty deep. The previous campers left a lot of trash in the campfire area... There was also occasional noise from a dirt road across the river to the west and a couple of boats went by on the river.
AT&T coverage was 0-1 bar... not functional.

There are two ways to approach this campground. From the south, on the west side of the Carrabelle River, turn onto CR379 which becomes Mill Road. Turn right at the first bridge for Pickett's Bay Tract onto Burnt Bridge Road and go 4 miles to Double Bridge Road. There will be a sign for the Sunday Rollaway Campsite on the right. Turn left onto the 1.5 mile "driveway" (which may have some large water-filled potholes) to the campsite.
From the east and Highway 67, turn onto Gully Branch Road as if you were headed to the Gully Branch Day Use Area. Go 4.2 miles to Burnt Bridge Road. Turn left and go 1.85 miles to Double Bridge Road and follow the directions above.
