My family and I spent 3 nights in site A32. Our rig is a 32’ TT that we pull with a F-350 (8’ box), and we fit like a glove in our site. Pad maneuverability was great - the trees weren’t in the way at all - and even though this site was on a corner, the corner worked in our favor when getting a good angle to back in. Electric and water hook-ups were on the rear of the pad, which was nice because we didn’t have to position the rig in order to not hit it with the slide.
There was a large picnic table and fire pit, as well as a medium-sized grassy area that backed into woods (which eventually backs into sand dunes) that our dogs enjoyed. Privacy wasn’t great but the space between us and the neighboring site made that acceptable to us. One thing to note about A32 is it does flood to the right of the pad under the picnic table. The pad itself didn’t have any standing water.
The campground is very walking, biking & scootering-friendly, with paved roads and trails. There are dog poo bags and buckets to discard your furry friend’s waste in each loop. The campground was clean and well-maintained with friendly hosts. The trail to the beach is very sandy and you do need to cross up and down the dunes. The beach is huge and beautiful!

March 2021. We stayed at Nehalem Bay State Park for 4 days. Turning off of HWY 101 to the park was somewhat of a bumpy pothole road for about a half mile or so. Then very good roads in the park itself. No one at the main entrance so we drove into our loop (A) space 32 and backed in. Had just enough space for our 21’ trailer and pickup truck. We hooked up to power and water, no sewer hookup. Two dump stations were out at the main entrance.
This spot had many short trees and had a fair amount or room between us and the other campers. It also had a picnic table and a fire ring and was backed into the dunes area. It was just a short walk to the beach entrance path from our site. At the beach was very large area and had the whitest sand I have ever seen except in Hawaii.
The parks bathrooms were spotless but the showers in our area (A) were shut down because of no hot water. You had to go to loop (B) to take a shower. As far as I could see all the RV camping spots were back in’s and mixed in were tent camping areas. In other locations were Yurt’s you could rent too.
This park has many-many camping sites as well as selling ICE and Wood. My wife really loved this park as it was very beautiful. The park had a host at each loop as with most state camp grounds do. The host I talked to was Ed, a very nice, friendly and knowledgeable guy. We took our bikes for a ride on the bike friendly roads and enjoyed the ride as this park has a long loop bike trail to use.
We took a ride to Warrenton to go to Walmart one day and then took a ride the next day to Nehalem and ate fish and chips at Riverside Fish ‘n Chips. The food there was fabulous as it was rated 4.5 out of 5 with Google. The wife also shopped at Hope Chest thrift store one day in Nehalem, I think.
Over all for the $132.00 it cost us it was worth every penny to camp there.

In spite of March rain, lightening, thunder, wind and cold, we had a great first camping trip of the year staying at Nehalem our first two nights out. The park is really nicely laid out, as others have said, and was easy to get into. It felt relatively private. Our only complaint was that we had to use the broom dustpan and a bucket to scoop water out of the driveway so that we weren’t standing in 2 inches of water to hook up after a big rainstorm. Apparently it’s an issue with several spots, although ours (B36) was the only one we saw with the issue.
The beach is a nice walk from the park through the dunes, and beautiful. Lots of other areas to explore outside the park.
The recycling/garbage stations were easy to access, along with the dump station.
Not a lot of kids in this park, but it was during the week that we were staying. I think kids would enjoy this park.
We would stay again!

We booked a reservation here about a week in advance for a Tuesday in early October. Simple booking system, but I would recommend doing the online Pre-Register, which you will receive an email about. We didn't have service for this stay and missed the cut off, so we had to check in upon arrival (other OR parks have allowed us to drive straight to site when pre-registered). Not an issue, and allowed us connect with the host and buy some firewood (cash only!)
This campground is pretty massive, but our campsite B33 might have truly been the best site in the whole place. We were directly across the road from the sandy path to the beach! (More about the beach in a moment.) The campground was well kept, but most campsites were pretty close together - not a big deal for us, but some may care. The campsite did include a picnic table and fire ring, as well as power and water (no sewer).
When it comes to location there is no substitution. This was hands down our favorite place on the Oregon coast. When we walked up that sandy path through the sea grass, crested the dunes, and looked down at the beach... our jaws dropped. The beach was absolute perfection, like something you would see much closer to the equator! We watched an amazing sunset with waves crashing and woke up to dense, eery fog. All-in-all, just very cool!
As an added bonus, the town of Manzanita is super cute and has a great little wine shop called Dixie's Vino, where we picked up a nice bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir, because when in Rome....

I stayed at this park a few different occasions in summer 2019. The area is really great with beautiful hikes, paddling and a sweet town. But the campground was absolutely packed to the gills with RVs of all sizes.
There are lovely walking paths through the pines and a beautiful bay where I got to paddle, although it was a bit windy which gave me a good workout. Walk over the dunes to the beach for sunset. Walk, bike or drive into Manzanita for yummy restaurants and bars (MacGregors Whiskey Bar!). Don't miss the farmers market which is a town party! Explore the area and go to all the small towns nearby, lots of paddling opportunities and long beaches. Tillamook is great although I went there for beer (YAY for de Garde) and not the dairy. :) Don't miss hidden gem Wolfmoon coffee and their amazing chocolate sourdough croissants!
Now for the rant: I feel like the sites were meant for tent campers or maybe vans but 95% of the spaces were filled with enormous 5th wheels, trailers and motorhomes. Each campsite also hosted at least 4 people. It's nice to see extended families enjoying themselves but not when you are mere inches away without RV walls to protect you. Seems like lots of these RVers like leaving external lights on their rigs on all night... Anyway, it was like camping in a cramped busy parking lot even though the campground is actually quite beautiful and most sites have some bushes and trees. Although it was noisy and busy everyone did seem incredibly nice! Plus there is a lot to do in the area so it wasn't like I was hanging around my site all day.
I met a super nice lady who told me the equestrian camp was really quiet and huge. She even offered to let me come share her spot there. So if you want a bit more space, bring your horses along LOL! :) Oh and I should add that the hike/bike campsites also looked really great. They have private lockers with outlets and even bike tools.
That was a lot of ranting simply to say that I love this campground other than the crowded RV situation in the summertime. Oregon State Parks are the best, and that's why they are so packed. I'll be back in the shoulder seasons.

The sand starts 50 feet from our site. Sites have water and electric. Community dump and recycling bins at the entrance. We caught a herd of elk wandering across the attached airstrip. It was smoky and rainy during our stay so can't say much about the views. Overall nice spot.

Dump station is a breeze to access. Trails provide ample area for walking, running, or biking. But the beach is the biggest appeal here. Dogs are free to be dogs, as long as they're controlled. Don't miss a stroll through quaint Manzanita. A breathtakingly scenic drive 30 minutes south to Tillamook leads to the famous Tillamook factory, where a tour followed by grilled cheese sandwiches and fresh ice cream await. We'll be back anytime we're nearby.

We camped here in mid-July in the middle of the week, just as Oregon campgrounds were starting to open up again and people were anxious to have somewhere safe to travel. Some things were closed during our stay due to the Covid19, but it wasn't a problem for us. The campground was full every night, but it wasn't overly loud and the sites were fairly spacious for a campground. The checkin process was quick and easy at the ranger station as you enter the park (the dump station is there on the way out, too).
Our site was near the trail over the dunes to the Nehalem spit (beach), which was nice for quick access to the beach, but it also kept us protected from the Oregon Coast winds. We had a solid 3 bars of T-mobile LTE service, and we don't use a booster. We had really nice partial shade at our site, and while I was a little worried about the trees next to the site being a problem, but we cleared them just fine.
The water and electric hookups were in a convenient spot, the campsite and campground are well-maintained, and whole place had a really nice vibe. It is very close to Nehalem and Manzanita, which are both super-cute costal towns, and not too far from Rockaway and Tillamook (if you need an ice cream fix). It is a bit of a walk to to the garbage and recycling bins, which was a bummer for my bum knee at the time.

After settling into our new spot we had an awesome time. We loved the beach access and proximity to Seaside and Tillamook.
I would not recommend this park in the busy season. It would be like camping at an apartment parking lot.
