Very remote and quiet. We saw maybe 2 other people. Drove up Nadeau coming from Ridgecrest area. Nadeau is paved but Slate range Rd is not. It was a really bumpy road taking Slate Range Rd over to the main road - Trona Wildrose Rd. A few places off Nadeau to park the RV. Not super level so bring your leveling blocks! Landscape is very rocky and there is donkey/mule/burrow poop everywhere! We did see one donkey on our way in at night and heard a few throughout the weekend but with the amount of poop there is, you would think they would be everywhere! Overall pretty place to camp. My advice would be to bring a shovel to move the poop out of the way!

Definitely OUT there. About 2 hours from the heart of Death Valley national park. The road to this spot was paved thankfully, and the sites actually had pull through kinda loops that people had cleared the bigger rocks from. I would say this area isn’t pet friendly though, our dog had a really hard time walking on the rocks because they were so big and sharp. We just crashed for the night here as we explored the national park for one evening and it was fine! We were the only ones there which was nice.

So we read all the reviews and decided to take a trip out to towards Death Valley for a long weekend. We arrived to discover what I can describe as a mars scape with road apples clutter about. So we read all the reviews and decided to take a trip out to towards Death Valley for a long weekend. We arrived to discover what I can describe as a mars scape with road apples clutter about. It probably is fine for a camper but its very un protected. The view is great but I would not go out of my way to stay here and we ended up just driving on. I wasn't going to waste the time trying to hammer tent stakes into compacted gravel but if you are sleeping in an RV you do you and I am sure it will be adequate for a night.

Many spots to choose from along nadeau rd and slate range rd. The drive in is rough but definitely doable in a class A rv. There are no amenities so bring everything you need. There are many trails and mines to explore if you have a 4x4. Wind can pick up at anytime so don’t leave awning out or chairs near your fire pit. This is a great... more

If you are going to camp here would recommend at least a high clearance rig, large class A stuff is limited to where you can go. If you know the area there are many level places to park and or tent.
