We stayed here for an overnight on our way from Florida back to Minnesota. It was . . . okay. A little off the beaten path, filled with mostly “seasonal” campers (many with no license, so who knows how long they’ve been there). The staff person/owner was pleasant at checkin. We had paid ahead of time, so were told to pick any open site in a specific row. The site was fairly level. Quite a bit of traffic in and out, presumably residents coming and going to work.

I will start this review off with some things that needs to be taken into consideration if you are considering staying here. This was a stopover on our way to Biloxi. The campground office is closed on Sundays and the staff is off as well. The campground had no vacancies on Saturday but the message informed us they had plenty of openings for Sunday night. The message included instructions on how to check in. That meant that all 120 sites were in use. We came in late Sunday and as stated, lots of openings in a well groomed campground. Plenty of room for my motor home and toad. Clean power, good water pressure as well. Fairly level gravel sites and a decent sized patch of grass between sites. Room for a screen house if we had wanted to. Note the bad part. The men’s bathroom was less than desirable. Three shower stalls, two useable. One looked like it had not been in use for quite a while. Every paper product was empty. The shower stalls were dirty and the curtains were hanging by 1/3 off the hooks. The rest of the hooks did not look like they were ever used. However, great shower head, good pressure and soft water. I would stay here again as a stopover, but I would use my own facilities for everything. The rates were very reasonable as well. We had no interaction with the staff.

First impressions do matter. The front office is cluttered and disheveled. It is also very small so even three people in there felt crowded (COVID anyone?) First impressions do matter. The front office is cluttered and disheveled. It is also very small so even three people in there felt crowded (COVID anyone?) On the plus side, the lady who checked us in was very nice in person as well as on the phone. There is a WII FI hot spot but no internet access. We used the hot spots on our phones which was a little sketchy as Verizon was 4g 1-3 bars depending on where you were standing. Satellite should be okay as there are very few trees. Mostly long term renters but most were neat with a couple of odd exceptions.. All gravel roads and sites although they could use more. Spacing was ok with some grass in between sites. It could be messy if it has rained. We could not use the sewer as we couldn’t reach it even with two hoses. And we had to use all 25 feet of the electric cord. Not sure about other sites. There is some noise from interstate off in the distance. Quite a few early risers for work but not that intrusive. Very reasonably priced.
Emie would stay here again
