The campground was cozy, sheltered by huge trees covered in moss which were completely mesmerizing, and the sites were decently spaced apart. Our site was right across from the pit toilet, which we caught a whiff of every once in a while. The toilet lacking toilet paper and needing a pump out is the only reason I gave this site 4 stars. Otherwise, I saw it as a 5-star stay considering it’s free with a Discovery Pass.
We had ATT&T and Verizon service the whole time. Our site also got good sunlight from late morning to early evening to allow for solar power.
No showers or water here, so we had to seek those out elsewhere, which wasn’t a huge deal for us since we were out and about every day anyway.

Stayed here in July to visit the Hoh Park. Its a loop off the road to the park, there are a few of these campgrounds on the peninsula. This seems like the only free campground of its kind that can fit big rigs, 6 out of 8 sites here can fit a class A, i stayed with a 40’ bus. The sites are close together separated by thick foliage, so you cannot see your neighbors but you can hear them talking. Cars drove through every ten minutes or so from 8am-midnight looking for an open spot to camp, I ended up sharing my site with a tent camper or van most nights. There is a pit toilet but I didnt use it, no water. 2 bars verizon but you can only get data randomly throughout the day. Overall good site to visit the park.

We camped here prior to camping at another location. This is a first come first serve CG that requires an Discovery Pass, we arrived on a Wednesday and there were only 4 other sites occupied. The road can be a little tight for larger rigs; however, the sites were big enough to accommodate Class A MH. Site 4 is an ADA site that is available to anyone after 6pm. Sites 1, 2 and 7-9 are best for large rigs. We were able to back our 25' trailer into Site 3 with no problem and have room for our F150, there were no pull through sites - all back in. Sites have fire rings and picnic tables. This is true dry camping; no water, electric or sewer. There is a pit toilet. Never did see ranger checking for the Discovery Pass. The Hoh Rain Forest in Olympic NP is about 10 miles, Forks is 16 miles and has a large grocery/hardware store on the south end of town. The campground was quiet even when other sites ran generators. We would camp here again.

In regards to the review below, we did not see any rats. No signs of them either.
The campground seemed to almost empty out daily (except Sat) but would fill right back up by the night.
It was some of the best sleep we have gotten being in the rainforest with nice cool weather and no traffic noise at night. We had great cell service for Verizon as well.
There is the river across the street but not easily accessible and I wouldn’t recommend walking down upper Hoh road since it’s a narrow rd.
There is a small clothing shop with some outdoor gear a block away and a diner about a mile down the road. It’s only 15 min to the Hoh rainforest.
Forks has laundry for about $6.5 to wash& dry a large load. There is a dump and water fill up at Bogachiel State park for $5.

But the biggest issue was we got rats from this place. We never had any issues with pests and have check to see is there are any holes. But we arrived late at night around 10 and was only there for 3 hours before we were woken up by rats scratching somewhere in the rv. We hadn't heard about this from any other reviews but we barely slept after driving all day. We only got like 3 hours of sleep. Would not stay here because of this. I did not feel comfortable in my own home and had to catch them for the next two nights trying to get them out. Such a bad experience. It is in the forest and they couldn't have done anything but it may be from rats knowing that these campers have food.
Just know that field rats frequent this camp ground. JS

Small campground that was very lush with vegetation and towering trees. We arrived on a Sunday early to beat the crowds and it was completely empty when we got there. Well someone else post that site #3 was the best and biggest site, they were not lying. The site was fairly level also. Stayed 4 nights and we had no issues getting our 40' rig in there. We did not need it, but there were pit toilets in the campground. We did not have a Discover Pass, so we just bought a annual for $35 and printed the temporary pass in the windshield. Not sure if anyone was checking though. So I guess it cost us $8.75 a night :-)
So boosted AT&T and Verison data was around 2 -3 mps down and .5 - 1 up. We were able to watch DTV Now just fine.

A no frills site which is fine for us. Number 7 is very deep and accomodated our rig just fine. Shady and beautiful. A little sunlight in our spot which helps for solor. Less than 20 mins in to the visitor center and miles of trail! What a find. And all for the grand price of an $11 wildlife resources state day pass. The $30 dollar annual pass would have been a great deal but we aren't here longer.
Deducted a tad for noise (you hear an occasional car on the road) and site quality (but really depends on size of rig). Would come back again.

The sites are in the woods with tress between most for privacy. There's a pit toilet to use if you're tent/car camping or wanting to stay for a while and not fill up your black tank.
Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Cell signal was good.
We will definitely be back!

I fit a 4 door Jeep and 12 foot trailer with plenty of room to spare. Far enough away from civilization but close enough to restock (about 25 mins to Forks). There is a little store just east of the exit that appears to have firewood/etc which I did not stop at. Easy drive as others have mentioned to the Hoh Rainforest visitor center, and I recommend checking out the beaches while you're there (Ruby Beach is beautiful and super easy access- about 20 mins).
