The entrance into the group of sites across the creek is also steep narrow and tight and could be tricky for larger rigs. Camping next to the creek was great. Bathhouse is dated but was clean. Utilities could be on the opposite side depending on what site you get so bring your extra hose and power cord. It sounds like a bad review but we enjoy our stay and stay here again if in the area. Great hikes and some kayaking.

We had site #29. Our extension cord suffers from a lack of length, which is why it drives such a big van…and given the oddity of the hookups positioning mentioned elsewhere, we had to — and were allowed to — park in the grass to accommodate. The gentleman on staff was about as friendly as a walk through the park with the sun on your back. You can hear rigs barreling up and down the gorge just about dawn to dusk, and though we had no neighbor to one side and a beautiful wooden bridge on the other, you can hear other campers fairly well as this place is more like an RV park than the spacious sites many a state park will provide. That all said, the creek made for literally hours of fun as our kids played around on the rocky beach, treating the ample flat rocks as though they were the last days of high school.
That’s to say, they were skipping them.

Staff was friendly, park was clean and well maintained. Only complaint was hookups were on the wrong side of the site.

We stayed in B34 next to the stream. It "looked" like it would be a quiet spot, but it was actually quite noisy, the only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. We stayed in B34 next to the stream. It "looked" like it would be a quiet spot, but it was actually quite noisy, the only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The road behind our spot was busy, but only at certain times. We never used the bathhouse, so I can't give a review on that. Overall we really enjoyed staying there. We were able to walk to the trailhead of the Natural Bridge. One suggestion, go up the Original trail and down Balanced Rock. Going UP Balanced Rock will be very challenging. There are so many hiking trails in that area. You could easily spend days there. I will also say that the spots not on the stream are closer together like a parking lot, but where we were was spacious.

Upon arrival at 2:30, check in time is 2:00 we were informed the site we had reserved had been given to someone else earlier and they would change us to the site the others had reserved. The attendant that informed us had been left this problem from the now off duty attendant and the people on the site had been gone since she came on duty.
She offered us a refund and the site the other campers would of been on but it wouldn't fit our 30ft camper even without our truck. She came up with two other sites with one luckily that was just big enough for the camper and had a space on the site for the truck but a little tricky to set up in. The saving grace was it was by the babbling brook and more private. We didn't take the refund as all worked out well. This is a small campground of about 36 sites with maybe 8 for over 30ft rigs and the pull thrus are not them! They are 20 through 26. The site we booked, site 2, was big enough for us and the truck. Hope this helps others do their research.

This is an older campground and the sites are wide but shallow. Be sure to bring extension cords for electric and extra hose for water, the pedestals are on the wrong side for 1/2 of the sites and you have to cross under your rig to get to them.
That said the area is beautiful and the hikes amazing

We chose a site for 30' (motorhome is 27') but it backed up to the stream running through the campground. Verizon was 1-2 bars 4G without using the booster but would switch to 1x if in your pocket inside the camper.

So this is another one of our spots for a quick weekend getaway. Typically a quiet campground with not a lot going on. A short drive to the state lodge and a few of the trails to the Natural Bridge. Really fun moderate hiking in the area. Don’t forget Court House Rock and Nada Tunnel both are great places to see while in the area. For the most part all camp sites are nice and level. The sites on the back side are better in my opinion however, there are a few you need to back way up to. When it rains, the campground is prone to flooding. There are quite a few large rv site and pull through sites. Phone service is sparse. But hey, back in, throw out the chairs and enjoy the creek.
