The site quality was good but it wasn't terribly big and the adjacent sites are close but not quite as close as you'd expect for a campground like this one. The water pressure was good but the sewer inlet was kind of high. We had two bars of Verizon 5G and 43 TV Channels. There is some road noise but its not too bad, otherwise the campground seemed pretty quiet.

Free wifi, extra wide, completely level, shady spots, most of the spots can see the water, friendly campers, great staff (that even let me check-in early), extra clean park that was maintained regularly. I just can't say enough nice things about this place. We didn't use the bathhouse so I can't really make any comments about that. Please note that they are doing some construction within the park so there is some noise during the daytime and when we were there the beach area was closed. But no complaints whatsoever!

Even though urban parks is not our first choice, this campground a stone’s throw from downtown Mobile is nice. All pads are asphalt and very close to level. Each site is angled so the neighbors don’t appear close. Bathrooms were clean. Be aware that the entrance is narrow.

By far the best place to stay while in Mobile. Sites are large and spaced far apart. Never used the showers or laundry but both were clean. Turn into the park is a little hidden and hard to see at night.

Stayed 2 weeks at this campground. Beautiful park! Staff were friendly and welcoming. Bath houses were tidy, laundry facility well priced and well maintained. No complaints! Gorgeous views!

Which just might be the best site - in May it was very green and the trees provided nice shade for this site. Full hook ups - nice! Laundry was clean, all in working order and $2.50 total for wash/dry. Didn't use the showers - but all looked clean. The pier has been repaired (can see old pier remains in video), but sadly the boardwalk was closed for renovations this year (can see it in the video as well). Not a lot of short foliage for privacy, but the sites are far enough apart that it's private enough. I like sites where I don't have to close all of our blinds - some could be left open here. You can hear traffic noise from the I-10 causeway, but mainly in the afternoons - lights are pretty at night!
Last year we hit the Piggly Wiggly in both Fairhope and Spanish Fort. This year just the Spanish Fort one - good selection of craft beer, but the store smelled bad...

Stayed in back-in campsite #33 which was waterfront, shady and pretty level. It was an asphalt site with grass on either side. There was long enough parking for my 34 ft TT and truck. Neighbors are not too close. The site included: picnic table on asphalt and BBQ pit. Utilities: 20/30/50A electric in middle. Water in middle, good pressure. Sewer in middle with screw-on fitting.
AT&T had 3 bars of 5G and Verizon 2 bars of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 8 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up. Verizon Speedtest: 2.5 Mbps down, 6.4 Mbps up. Did not use the available free Wi-Fi. Would stay here again. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I was disappointed because several reviews indicated 3 bars Verizon. I did not find that to be the case at all. I had often 1 bar Verizon and barely 2 bars. If you are working it matters where you are in the park I believe. I rarely found 3 bars and only briefly.
Easy access to see the ship Alabama which was interesting to see.
The walks are pretty repetitive (in a circle) around the park. People were very friendly and it was very clean!

This is a really nice, neat, clean State Park with nice space between sites, and tall pines giving some shade if you're in the right site. It would get a 5*, but for the highway noise - and personally I wouldn't give it more than a 3 ½* if I could. This SP sits on John Bay, between Battleship Pkwy and Interstate Route 10 with a very long over-water bridge about ¾'s mile away that produces a tremendous amount of constant noise reverberating over the water, except for a few hours in the middle of the night. It's a shame, really. We loved our location (site 54), the inexpensive launderette, and the constant breeze. If you stay here, be sure to book a water site. The sunsets over Mobile are beautiful. There is no privacy between sites. There are a few trails between the park and Battleship Pkwy, but it doesn't amount to much as far as length. There's a small Little Library in the laundry with books and Video CD's. The park gate closes in the evening. Wifi is fair.

This was a perfect stop after staying overnight just west of Tallahassee, FL. The park itself was easy to get to, checking in was simple and we met one of the kind hosts from the campground. We (ahem… I….) accidentally booked a tent site (hey, it had water and electric and was cheaper!) but it was good enough for us for the night.
The park had a few short trails but the coolest one was the boardwalk.
There was also a boat launch and a kayak launch which was quite tempting, but we were only staying the night (and it was a bit chilly when we got there).
There were quite a few large rigs and I believe most sites were full hookup. They also had a long L-shaped fishing pier to enjoy (of course) fishing as well as those beautiful sunsets.
One thing to be aware of is that since it is conveniently off the highway, you will inevitably hear a lot of traffic noise at the campground. For us, it wasn’t an issue (though we also don’t mind staying at rest stops with lots of truck noise, so take our opinion with a grain of salt!). And if you’re visiting the USS Alabama, it’s a hop, skip, and a jump from here!
