This is typical of a well managed state campground. Back in, FHU, spacious, water views, accessible, fishing, dog walks - we're just passing through but have a day to do touristy stuff, including USS Alabama. We'll be back. Dinner at Oyster House, close by, was pretty good.

Everything about it is pretty good (access, paved pads, full hookups, clean bathrooms, laundry facilities) but we are used to being a little more secluded in nature. It's just not as peaceful and serene as some other state parks that we've been to, but the location is great. Only negatives to report are 1. low water pressure at site 2. shower water temp is HOT and can't be adjusted 3. three washing machines and only one (functioning) dryer.

Camp host was very nice and the entire park was so clean! Warned us about alligators but didn’t see any during our stay.
Reception was great for Verizon and AT&T. Most state parks just have water and electricity, this one had full hook ups!
Could have spent all day at the Battleship in Mobile! Close to Publix, Whole Foods, and other shops.
Can’t wait to come back during the summer for a nice vacation!

Challenging to reach anyone by phone. Friendly staff at check-in and comprehensive email communication ahead of arrival. Area is gated and locked at night but there is a gate code for late arrivals.

We were able to snag a cancellation for spot #60 but only one night. We would stay here again, nicest staff but VERY hard to get ahold of by phone - just leave a voicemail and they will eventually call you back. I called the day before during office hours on and off for hours. Finally left a voicemail, the next morning we drove that way hoping we would hear from them and we did luckily when we were an hour away.
Some back in and some pull-thru sites. No issues with water pressure and each site has electric, water and sewer included. The office has ice for sale and a few other things. There are trails and outbuildings but we didn’t explore. Park was full but very quiet and nice staff/fellow campers.

This park is in a great location with lots of stuff to do between Mobile and Fairhope. If you have your pick, we think site 54 would be the best on the water.
Would definitely stay here again.

This was a great location convenient to explore Mobile and USS Alabama Park.(it's outstanding and a must see!)
There is constant highway noise, but you get used to it quickly. Nice short trails in the park also.

Right down the road from the USS Alabama, some good sea food, and right on the coast.
Friendly staff, nice people staying there.
Couldn't catch any crab, but other than that, it was awesome!

We stayed at Meaher State Park for a week. It is still recovering from the recent hurricane, but it was a clean and well-kept park. It is very convent to I10, downtown Mobile, with excellent restaurants and shopping. We had a site on the bay. It had a beautiful view, and sunsets, but being January there was a cold wind blowing in all the time. The sites are roomy, but there was noise from duck hunters, I10, and the causeway. They only have grills and no fire ring. If you like a fire bring your own firepit. We work from our travel trailer and cell/internet access was good for video conference calls and streaming. We enjoyed our stay.
