This is a very attractive campground conveniently near the exit from I-74 at Mt. Airy. Access roads to and in the campground are good (but beware of a couple of big potholes on the public roads approaching the campground entrance). Roads in the campground are gravel and in good condition. Campsites are gravel and level, with no shade. They are small and close together, but no worse than most commercial campgrounds. The campground staff asked if I wanted a picnic table or fire ring when I checked in, so if you want either of these just ask. Parking for our toad was tight, as the site wasn't long enough to pull in our pickup directly behind our 39' coach; we parallel parked at the entrance to our site. Internal roads are wide enough for easy access, maneuvering and parking. I did not test the campground wifi but had good TV streaming using our Verizon hotspot and good phone service (talk, text and data) with T-mobile phones. We were on the newer loop which has no cable tv hookups. Our site offered good views and was quiet, but sites at the other (North?) end of the park are near the interstate and had some road noise. There is a surprisingly well equipped RV parts & accessories store, but no food service on site. There are many restaurants, grocery and hardware stores (and everything else) about a 5 minute drive away.
Tips:
Downtown Main Street gets very crowded during the tourist season peaks, but worth a stroll. Try Uncorked wine bar on Main Street for a relaxed and uber-friendly visit; it is the "Cheers" of wine bars and we left after a couple of hours with several new friends (all regulars of the establishment). They have a good selection of bottled or canned craft beers & ciders (no drafts) and, of course, wide selection of wines.
13 Bones BBQ - our favorite dining experience of the week; large portions, EXCELLENT taste, and very affordable. I'd definitely go back! BIG lunch crowd after church on Sunday, so time your arrival accordingly.
Rusty Rooster Southern Breakfast & Lunch - similar to Cracker Barrel for atmosphere, menu and prices, but a notch higher in quality, especially the sausage gravy and biscuits. Super friendly staff.
Cody Creek/The Depot Restaurant - awesome rustic atmosphere, but I'd only go back for drinks and an appetizer on a date where the atmosphere would be appreciated; try the fried mushrooms appetizer or the grilled shrimp entrée, which are excellent. I was told by another camper that the chicken is also good...but PASS on the steaks.

Amazingly clean and peaceful campground about ten minutes from downtown Mount Airy and all things Andy Griffith! Our site (#4) had a beautiful view overlooking the campground and one of the stocked fishing ponds. Some sites could experience a bit of road noise but ours was peacefully quiet. Camp store had a good selection of RV supplies and cold sodas. Laundry room was small but clean, $2 to wash and the same to dry. Friendly staff does a really nice job keeping the grounds trimmed and neat. Be sure to read the history of the property on your check in brochure, pretty unique! We would definitely return to this park!

We stopped over at the Mayberry Campground on our way home from SC. Easy access off the highway. Some reviews mentioned highway noise. We did not hear any. The campground was very quiet, clean and peaceful. It looked like there were quite a few permanent sites. We were in a section that had many people stopping overnight enroute to or from Myrtle Beach. We unhooked and took a ride in to town to experience Mayberry. The camp staff were very friendly and helpful. The family clearly takes great pride in their property. We got a first responder special rate. Would definitely stop overnight again.

Many level hard gravel sites. Can accommodate any size camper. Great staff, very well maintained. Easy to get to. There is road noise because it is next to the highway.
All are full hookup sites.
Best RV park in the area!!!

Super clean, wide open and easy to navigate. Perfectly close to local Mayberry attractions and history. Great staff, and Early Sunday morning Bible study in the store was just great. Definitely coming again.

4 stars just because there isn’t any shade. Which is great for starlink, but it gets a little warm in the summer. Sites are large and easy to access, front desk and maintenance staff are super friendly and accommodating. Even though it fills up on weekends, it’s still fairly quiet. There is highway noise.

This is a cute RV park. The Starr is pleasant and you see them working hard throughout the park to keep it well maintained. The shot 5 minute drive to Mt. Airy, the home of Mayberry and Andy Griffith gives you several days of fun walking through this adorable town.

The park is lovely. Nice and green, most sites have sufficient space between them. We were in site 95 which was on the end and we had plenty of room. Site 94 had very little room between their rig and ours. Sites 88 to 95 are tighter than almost anywhere else. The other sites are very roomy and nice. Very well taken care of, owners take pride on the campground. Almost every site has cable TV except 108 thru 139. I think every site in 108 through 128 could get a satellite pointed if you had one. Big rigs galore here. They except Passport America 22.50 per night. They also give a discount for military. There is some highway noise but didn't bother us at all. If you are sensitive to that stay in the front of the park. Cell service T-Mobile 3 bars, Verizon 2 to 3 bars. However, the internet is almost non existent. Tmobile: Best 10.36mbs down and 20.02 up. Worst which was most of the time .063 down and 3.56 up. Verizon Best 3.47 down and 7.69 down. Worst which was most of the time .84 down and 2.84 up. Internet service in Mount Airy on our phone was almost non existent as well. There are no trees so in the heat of summer it could get pretty hot.

No online reservation, no one answering phone, after numerous emails, I only had a tentative reservation. I gave up and went to Pilot Mountain State Park instead. I was also worried about baking with no shade.
