Started to have some trouble with our tow vehicle so had to make a quick stop in Redding in order for the truck to be looked at. Crown Ford Motors suggested we stay at Marina RV Park as it was close to the dealership. Phoned up the RV Park and was able to get in without any problems . When we arrived the counter staff were very friendly and accommodating said we could pick any site we wanted down by the Sacramento River. We chose site 40 which was right beside the river. The park looks like they have a lot of full time residents and the surrounding area looks a little run down but in a pinch it will do. I will give you a warning there are a lot of Canada geese in the area so watch out where you step. Once we were parked and unhooked I took the truck to the dealership and found out what time they opened the next day. The showers and rest rooms need some work but the water is hot and the pressure is good just make sure you wear some flip flops. The next day with the truck in the shop I get a call from the service department and they said that I should have the truck by late afternoon. I checked with the office and asked if it would be all right to stay in our spot until we left and they said sure and no charge. I am sure that any other RV Park would have charged us for an extra day. But seeing how they had a lot of empty spaces they weren't really worried about it. Needless to say that was a welcome surprise considering the situation we were in. I would recommend this as a stay over for a night or two not sure if there are a lot of things to do in the area but it was a welcome for us in order to get our problem solved.

The price is good, in comparison to other rv parks in Redding and it is on the lake. The residents (this rv park is almost all permanent) at this rv park are all pretty friendly. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. It's pretty run down, but the few residentsibdid talk to said they were trying to "help the owner" by watering and do minor repairs. They allow dogs, but don't have a dog park area and all of the grassy areas have signs stating "not a dog area". The laundry, showers and bathrooms are all up stairs with no ramp available making it extremely difficult to haul laundry up with these old knees. And, unfortunately, not as clean as one would expect considering I went in right as the cleaning lady was leaving. (Even the pool has several steps up.) We arrived on Wed, left on Sunday and no one was in the office Thurs-Sun, not answering the phone or returning calls.
I would go back for the price and friendly people, but others need to know what to expect.

First the pros
The park is right on the river and about a mile from the Sundial bridge rec. area. Relatively easy access to I-5
Now the cons
LOTS of full timers here with trash all around their RV's. I get that parks can get some consistent income from full timers but seems to be mostly what they have here. Very few spots for overnighters. It is just a large paved parking lot with sites spray painted at the edges - all back in.
Lots of noise in the mornings with the locals leaving for work and letting their loud vehicles warm up. Also for the two nights we spent the garbage truck was in at 7:15 one morning as well as a leaf blower going at 7:30 the other morning.
Other issue was the hookup were all at the very back of the site. Not bad for power / water, but the sewer hookup would have required 3 hoses on my rig, elected to just not dump here.
Be prepared if you stay here...it is cash only.

Stayed a single night in transit along I-5. Location reasonably convenient even as the park itself is literally a tightly packed parking lot. Getting into the spot was tricky enough. Park isn’t particularly well maintained nor is the price a bargain. The real kicker though is the ant infestation we received in a single eighteen or so hour stay. Another guest warned us as they had the same experience but after over a year and a half on the road full time, this one night stop has led to serious ant issues in our rig.

Some reviews said this place was run down - I disagree. Anyways, I called ahead and there were couple spots open. Good Sam gives a $5 discount from $40 to $35 / night (tax included). Full hookup. Pool was closed for repairs. WiFi works, 8 mb down, 2 mb up, 75 ms latency. 2 bars of LTE on Sprint and Mint.
The location was quiet, minimal highway noises. Only one entrance/exit so it's very quiet. Woke up in the morning hearing lots of birds. Surrounded by the Sacramento River on 3 sides. It's great.

Just next to the park is Urban Retreat Day Spa where I had a really excellent massage, recommended.

Surprisingly the LTE bandwidth on any service was rather limited even with the booster, but the connection was solid. I was able to stream and do video conferencing with only rare voiping. I think it's because it's kind of down in the river area with bluffs around it, but it could be a lack of cell towers.

Good for an overnight or week stay if you have to make repairs. I was in Redding getting my transmission rebuilt at NorCal. It's a parking lot. For whatever reason, I didn't get a waterfront view even though there were plenty of open spots the entire time I was there. Maybe request for one? The full timers are reasonably friendly and the bathrooms are clean. Hot showers. If you're new to the area, Redding has a rampant homeless population. I felt pretty safe at this park. I drove by others and was not impressed. This park is also about a hop and a skip away from the Redding Dog Park.

We don't like RV parks, but this one did it's job. Right off the Highway, full hook-up, access to a dog-friendly beach (so hard to find in CA!), and spots that, although small, are nicely separated from each other. Worth it for a quick clean-out. Late arrival system is AWESOME. Noise level was due to the close highway.

“Run down”

Not sure how this park got 4 stars (1star). Pretty rough shape. The phone message said office was closed and to come to door to find available sites. Arrived, door notice said no sites available. Moved on to Premier Rv park (4star)
