Pull-through FHU 50 amp. Concrete pad. Site #7
General: The design of the sites is ideally set up so each site feels like and end site with no neighbor on either side of your rig.
Staff: Did not see staff but checkin was easy and organized via text.
Sites: The staggered site design is so smart and makes each site feel much more private. On a concrete 32' pad with covered metal structure. Paking is set up perpendicular behind your rig.
Campground Road: Gravel road. Road into the campground is dirt/gravel and can be washboarded.
Campground WiFi: Could not always connect to campground WiFi.
Grounds: Clean and maintained really well.
Bathrooms/Showers: Did not use.
Laundry: Did not use.
Location: Gas, groceries, and restaurants all within 5 min.
Near highway: No.
Near train: Yes. But infrequent.
Cell using booster: AT&T (2-3 of 4 bars —4G) and Verizon (3 of 4 bars sometimes 4 bars—4G). Both were strong enough to work on VPN just fine and have Zoom meetings. Small moments of lag when using AT&T. Could stream as well on both networks.

A text message is sent with the pertinent instructions for getting there. They advise you to ignore your GPS if it tells you to go up Golf Course Rd because of a railroad crossing. There is a sign at the entrance of this road advising no trucks. There wasn't a check-in process otherwise.
The last ~1/2 mile of road to the park is fairly washboarded but not a significant obstacle.
The sites are FHU and have very nice concrete pads with metal shelters covering the entire site. Adirondack chairs were present. The site was level and we didn't have any issues with power. Water pressure was on the low side. The sites are staggered which helps improve the view - plenty of room between you and the neighbors. Dumpsters are available at the entrance.
There was periodic train noise during daylight hours and a low amount of road noise. The location is excellent for exploring Marfa and other surrounding areas.

Apple Maps GPS sent us to a dead end in a farmers field where we had to back up and turn around. Mike then sent a text with instructions— after driving back into town and starting over; we made it. There’s a security gate on the property. Dumpster on the road. Swimming pool was not open in mid-April. No restrooms or showers. Convenient to town; we would stay again when visiting Marfa.

I don’t know why I don’t stay longer, listening to the flags blowing in the wind seems to be very meditating.

His reply was pretty snarky too.
The sites looked decent. The pool and common room were closed when we were there.

So I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone! If you want a yacht club find a marina!! Stayed here on a whim, I should’ve kept rolling! The train is loud but I was exhausted day one from traveling and day 2 from hiking so didn’t bother me
Disappointed there isn't a shower or laundry area especially after hiking in the Davis mountains (25 min drive).
Bring food or go to restaurants early as they closed at 3pm while I was here.
Mikes directions were spot on. Text communication with quick responses. When you turn on to Antelope Rd go really slow-theres about 1/4 mile or so gravel and washboard road. Once here, the pads are level and some have Adirondack chairs
Wifi was strong signal but ATT was 2 bars.

My only negative is that there is no public area for showers and potty. Having a smaller vintage Airstream we like to use the public areas if we can. This is west Texas so wind is always a factor and nothing will stay clean.

We stopped here for an overnight stay on our way across the country. The sites are pull-through, full hookups with concrete pads and shade canopies. Very convenient to restaurants and shops in Marfa. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Occasional freight trains nearby during the night.

Great owner, friendly long term residents, town of Marfa is very special and Yacht Club location is convenient yet quiet - fewer than a dozen sites total. Very dog friendly except for sand stickers and skunks. The set up is to encourage a feeling of a tiny home community and the week I visited we were able to do a socially distant potluck campfire dinner which was very nice. I hope to return for a longer stay some day. Can’t recall exact cell coverage but both VZ and ATT were no problem as was the site WiFi.
