When I pulled in at about 2pm there were already about 10 rigs in the lower section in the areas close to the road. There were 2 more in the site to the right as you pull to the back part towards the tents. Site 2 left just as I pulled in so I got that one. It is so out of level I had to get to the side closest to the tents leaving about 10 ft between my steps and the grass and trees to the side. Then a rig pulled in on the other side of me. Then another next to it. Then at about 10:30 pm a car and van pulled into the 10 ft wide area on my step side of the rig. This is in no way what I would expect for dispersed camping, ZERO respect for others space and the camp host actually allow a converted bus to park along the side of the road blocking about half the road so to even get the truck out I had to drive over the side of the road.
I will not be going back

I am planning on staying three nights and hoping the person running their generator all night leaves, so I’ll update after my full stay.
That said it is very close to many areas I wanted to explore. The view is spectacular. I plan on scouting some other areas I can get my 35’ Winnebago Journey parked.
It was dicey getting in because it had just rained, so very muddy, slick, and lots of potholes and ruts. I went VERY slow and made it to the first “parking lot”? Not really camp spots.

Level site with lots of space but it's at the end of a dead end that is not marked as such so we had lots of people come down the road and turn around at our spot and crush lots of sage. A dead end sign should be at the beginning of this one site road. The hosts are super nice but I think they could come around more to move all of the people camped in places that were marked no camping. They destroyed a lot of sage; very sad. The road in is extremely rocky and difficult to drive up without 4x4. We would definitely come here again but probably choose a more private site. Get here early to find a decent site as it is extremely busy.

We stayed at lower because the road to upper Teton was still closed. We hiked up and there was still some snow but the road to the right at the fork was in good shape and holy cow the views from site 5&6 up there might be the best views in the area and for free. Must do!

Would camp here again if a better location was unavailable.
Lower Teton or Toppings as per the Official Forest Service Ambassador on-site is getting used a lot and the use shows. The roads to lower and upper is getting pretty rough and many campers using the road while I was there seem to think it’s ok to drive up and down the road at any speed they like which is not really ok.
Slow down: People driving way to fast down dirt roads past other campers stir up a lot of dust. It’s impossible enjoy sitting outside with a cold drink to enjoy the view when you are choking on dust.
Slow down: Speeding and bouncing around on a dirt road only serves to wear out the road more quickly.
Slow down: Be a good neighbor and courteous Camper/RV’er
The Forest Service Ambassador told me the Forest Service is considering a fee to use this area to help pay for the maintenance that is needed due to the increased use. He also mentioned that he has to put out smoldering campfire several times a week left by careless campers. (Probably the speeders)
All in all this area upper and lower have good views. The lower area doesn’t have many level areas. The upper area may be crowded and the access road is rough and narrow is spots.

When we arrived in early May, we had our pick of the place. By the end of the week traffic had increased to 13-15 RV's per night. Most were trucks or van conversions that came in the evening and left in the morning; if you're a big rig like us I'd aim to arrive before 3 or 4pm, at least this time of year.
Road to Upper Teton View was still closed as of 5/12/19 due to snow, but the views were well worth the walk up. Where the snow was melted, the road to Upper Teton was in great shape, in contrast to earlier reviews.
That said, at the start of our stay the road to Lower Teton View was ALSO in great shape, but snow melt-induced mud being driven over by fairly heavy traffic was quickly taking its toll. By the time we left, I was glad we weren't going to be driving that road anymore.
It's a beautiful spot, easy to get to and easy to get into the park from, with plenty of room for the kids to play. Don't expect privacy or a level spot, but we'd absolutely have stayed longer if we could have.

We were just down from the camp host, who were very nice. They even gave our kids activity books from the Forest Service. We had full bars 4G att, but the internet would not work except in the middle of the night when no one else was using the cell tower. I speed test 7.5mbs at 3am and 0.01mbs durning the day. We were sad to leave. It comes highly recommended from us!

Road is rough and hard on big RVs and small cars. Mosquitoes and flies are bad. No quiet time, so be ready for generator noise and loud drunks all night. Food storage is required due to bears in area. Camping only in designated areas. Few fire rings available and no construction of new rings allowed. No trash containers so pack it out. No toilets so feces and toilet paper must be buried. Other sites available within 5 miles of this site but be sure you are in a designated site in the National Forest. Fines can be high for camping in undesignated sites or camping in Grand Teton National Park

This has been one of the best boondocking sites I’ve encountered mainly due to the view and easy access for our giant 37 foot trailer. Although there are no toilets, water or hookups, we stayed until we ran out of water. And even then we filled up a few containers of free water at a Shell station in Jackson to extend our stay to check out Teton Village.
The road in is gravel and bumpy but it’s less than a quarter mile, which made it easy to venture out each day. No road noise, but could hear campground people coming and going each day, particularly for those checking out Upper Teton.
As for Upper Teton, you drive through Lower Teton and the road up is certainly pretty bad, but I’ve driven worse. Our Verizon signal was decent in Lower Teton so we felt no reason to drive up. It’s an easy walk as well to check it out before attempting.
Most amazing of all was that this site was at least 5 degrees cooler than Jackson so even during the dead heat of summer, we didn’t need AC. Definitely would come back.
