This is a secluded campground with a lake view at the end of 1.6 miles long dirt road (NF-1122). The road was not clearly marked but it was not very rough. This is a secluded campground with a lake view at the end of 1.6 miles long dirt road (NF-1122). The road was not clearly marked but it was not very rough. We checked this campground on Monday, 7/17 around noon. It was almost full except site 11, which is a walk-in site next to the vault toilet. Not good for our 25 ft long motorhome. So we didn't camp here and camped at Kulshan Campground instead. There were many other people looking for a campsite. Campsites next to the road can get dusty because of the constant stream of cars looking for a campsite.
There was a notice saying USFS is proposing to start charging a camp fee of $20 per night. The comment period has ended in October 2022.

I arrived on Oct 16, 2022. Drove past the unmarked gravel road the first time. At the end of the road I was rewarded with a small, private, no fee campground by Baker Lake and a sign- it was indeed Lower Sandy Campground. There were about 10 sites, only 3 occupied ( myself included) on a Sunday which could have been due to the heavy smoke from wildfires. Luckily the others were as quiet as myself and my dog. Very few insects and no mosquitoes. I would like to return on a clear day. Due to the smoke we only stayed one night.

Very limited campsites for trailers and tents. I think we counted 7-10 spots, all were filled up.
