Low Key is a great spot to relax. The view of the marshes is spectacular. The bar/road is a bit loud but the band ends at 10PM which is perfect....pretty much the road also. Site 10 is best for class A and we have a trailer which would work if we pulled in straight and not use your vehicle. We needed to back in and use our vehicle. Carey was gracious and set us up with sewer hose extension to hook up as the sewer access was on the wrong side for us.
We booked Th-Sun depart Mon. 4 days.
While we were at our site another camper asked to see our site as he was checking in. We mentioned that we were booked for one more day......he became angry and was going to rail the management. Fortunately we had decided to leave a day early as we do at times so as not to rush breaking camp. It would have been very awkward if we stayed and the camper out of a site because it was double booked.
We showed check in camper our receipt from LOW KEY.
If you travel to Cedar Key several places are not open because of the hurricane that hit Cedar Key 2023. Low Key Hide Away lost site #1 which is why I think they mistakenly double booked the sites?

Campground reviews are obviously very subjective. If you are interested in hanging out at a bar & hearing music then this place is for you. If you are looking for any sort of traditional campground experience then this is not for you. We were in site 1 which was right next to the tiki bar which on some nights was jamming well into the night. The heat & need for ac was good as it helped to block out the noise but 1 night was particularly loud and late; meaning later then 11. The locals also seemed to gather just outside the bar, even closer to our camper with no regard for the fact that we were trying to sleep. Again, not a problem if you plan to stay up later than 10. The common areas are very nice. The pier is also very pretty.
Checking in we were barely greeted or given any sort of instructions, information or general welcome. Maybe they had wifi, bathrooms, laundry but we were not made aware of any of that. Cedar Key itself is largely a fishing town with very little going on but people are incredibly friendly and there are a couple of breakfast/lunch spots that were fabulous. Dinner was ok. The springs that are 30-60 min away are must see spots.
The nightly cost here is about twice what it should be. Honestly, it feels like it should be a Harvest Host with an extra fee due to the hookups.

We ended up in Cedar Key by chance on our way down the coast. After a quick drive around the island, we were leaving to stay at a nearby campground when we passed Lowkey Hideaway. My husband is entirely incapable of driving past a Tiki Bar without stopping, so we dropped in and we are SO glad we did. The nine RV spots are on a small strip of land on the side of the road, but we had no problem with traffic noise - Cedar Key is a quiet little town and I can’t imagine there are ever THAT many cars going by. The spaces are cozy and don’t have much privacy between you and your neighbor, but there are several huts/patios/swings/etc. along the water to hang out and enjoy the incredible sunsets.
Full hookups available, but we didn’t use them so can’t say much there. They also have bathrooms and showers available.
We had an absolute blast hanging out at the bar and chatting with the locals and the other travelers. Really amazing community. And really amazing mojitos.
There is wifi at the bar/motel side, but we had enough service to stream a football game on our phone from the camper.

What it fails to show is the campground is jammed between a line of bushes on the bay side and a busy Florida highway 24 that runs directly perpendicular to all sites some 15 ft away without any barrier or bushes or screening. Hwy 24 is the only way in and out of Cedar Key! The bar and pier are quite unique and we had live music on Saturday night! I was glad I was in #8 which is about as far away from the bar as you can be!

The RV spots are right on the main road into town so it can be pretty noisy. Cars, trucks and boats early in the morning for fishing.
It is a charming spot and so unique.
