Seconding the other reviews saying the access road was very rocky and bumpy. Doable, but not the most fun. We stayed on a weeknight and didn't hear any shooting, but there were coyotes at night. No posted quiet hours either; other campers were noisy until well past 2am. Fine for a single night of boondocking.

There is recreational shooting near by so be prepared for that during the time the sunlight is around. Gravel area. May not be the beat for heavy rigs. Pretty good size area. There is bathrooms here but people suck and don't clean up after them selfs. No hook ups of any kind here. My stay was nice and quiet and I cleaned up the area a... more

Weekends were busy with OHV vehicles and there are several shooting areas but in the camper the noise wasn’t bad. Pit toilets were a disaster the entire time, no one came to restock TP or do a general cleaning.

Long weekend, needed a quick stay overnight for early van return in Phoenix in am. Several side by sides, motorbikes, all or any off road vehicles constantly on main road, dick head rippers, tonnes of shooting areas. Loud. Actual site is moderately fenced in so you can’t really get away from anyone, all their crap or all the noise. Felt unsafe and overwhelmed so we left and went back to Table Mesa finding more families, respect and a private spot. Road not bad some spots with holes.

We camped on the road at the Black Canyon Trail Head. Roads are hard packed dirt/clay/rocks. We started going to Little Pan and were stopped by an ATV that redirected us to the BC trailhead area where the road was better. So we turned around and turned off at the Trailhead parking area and took the road further back. We found a very nice spot with lush green grass and amazing views.
It's a stunning location for sure, but just be prepared for non-stop gun fire...dawn until dusk...every day. Also, there was a steady stream of ATV's, motorcycles & 4-wheelers. It rained for two days straight while we were here and thought we would get a reprieve from all of the above. But they kept up the activities rain or shine.
We were concerned about getting out on the muddy roads. Especially after guys with their 4-wheel trucks came out and started doing donuts in the middle of the camp area tearing the roads up even further. After a couple of sunny days our road dried out enough the we made it out.
We probably will not come back to this place. As beautiful as it was, the noise level was excessive.

*Heads up* The roads getting in here can be a little rough. Take it slow and you will be fine with just about any vehicle or rig though. The roads getting in here can be a little rough. Take it slow and you will be fine with just about any vehicle or rig though. Hard pack clay with wash crevices, rocks, and if rainy, a little mud. No sand. You won't get stuck.
Primarily and off roading location so it isn't always quiet. Shooting range about a mile back as well, so distant gunshots can be heard. Nothing you could hear while in an RV on site though. Standard BLM 14 day in 28 day period stay limit.
Wonderful BLM land with off road trails. A great place to camp and relax. No worries about mud in the pit area as it is coated in crushed rock. There are even well kept vault toilets here.
Another pro is full signal T-Mobile LTE, even without a band 12 capable phone. Sprint and AT&T also work here. I did not test Verizon. (I am sure it works though.)
There is a fair amount of litter along the sides of the trails and near the parking areas. Shame on anyone who would discard refuse here. Pack it in, pack it out. Don't you want your grand children to be able to come here and enjoy riding and camping too? I have no children, but we all share these public lands. Let's do everything we can to keep it that way.

We went to check out the trails in our RZR. The trails were nice. There were many groups of people shooting everywhere. Even found some shooting a cross a trail we were riding. There was a lot of trash and looked like alot of people living permanently out there. We left our truck and trailer at the staging area and when we returned found that our gas had been stolen out of our truck. We would not feel safe spending the night here.
