We camped for 4 days in the last week of their season in October 2022. The fall colors were amazing! The weather was cold, clear and crisp. The wildlife was abundant and the scenery was beautiful. What more could you hope for!

There were few campers in mid September. They have a nice harbor and boat ramp and decent showers. The sites have no electricity or hookups. There are two different rates: Maine residents ($17) and out of state ($32.70)

Beautiful campground and surrounding areas. Surrounded by mountains, ponds and beautiful fall colors! Went on a few hikes and the woods have the sweet smell of balsam trees. Love it! We checked out the B-52 Memorial Site which we weren't aware of prior to our trip. Very reflective experience as two of my older brothers had served in Vietnam. Enjoyed the Trout Pond trail and pond in the Little Moose Public Lands off Hwy 6/15 west of Greenville.

Idillic and peaceful Moosehead lake is one of the must see locations in Maine. Lily Bay is a state park that serves as a launch point for many adventures in the great North Maine Woods while still being relatively close to civilization. The park offers many waterfront sites, a marina, a great playground for the kids and a beautiful sandy beach if you dare go swimming in the frigid waters.
We prefer to kayak and explore the spectacular shoreline. Moose are numerous throughout the area, and if you don't see one you where not looking hard enough.
The park does not offer any hookups, but they do have potable water spigots throughout the campground loop and a convenient dumping station.
One of our favorite activities is to hike Mt. Kineo, which is an easy hike but offers a spectacular 360 vista of the lake from the repurposed fire watch tower. From Lily bay, you can also explore the spectacular Gulf Haggas area with spectacular gorges and waterfalls.
One event that we have not had the opportunity to take part of, but have been wanting to is the Annual International Seaplane Fly-in that takes place in the town of Greenville on the shores of Moosehead Lake. Normally the event takes place in September which is also a perfect time to do some leaf peeping.
Make sure to secure reservations because the best places get taken very fast.
Forget the outside world, you will find no phone signal here, and that is one this parks best attractions.
