This is such a pretty spot. There is some road noise but not really bothersome.
Nice larger sites. Only loop D is open in winter.
Bathrooms and showers were closed in Loop D which was very inconvenient. Only one pit toilet open and that was in loop B too far to walk.
Other than that it was a great stay.

Colorados 1st state park is a great place to camp, hike, fish, kayak, bike, golf, miniature golf, enjoy the views of the Spanish peaks. We fit our 40’ 5th wheel in the pull through in loop B fine. There’s also a nice playground for kiddos and an amphitheater.

A fine campground - first CO state park. Getting in and out of the park was easy - mostly pull thru sites in Pinion Loop D - easy to level. For the inside sites, navigated the wrong way in the the one way around the campground loop to get to our site and have the picnic table on the side of our door. No real issues if we encountered another rig as plenty of the pull-thru sites were empty. Full flavor of electricity - 50A, 30A, 20A. Water spigots spread throughout the campground for filling fresh water and disconnecting. Clean bathroom and showers- showers require coins and the water was mildly warm at best. Great views of the Spanish Peaks mostly during the mornings or after the afternoon rainstorm- Canadian wildfire smoke was moving through during our stay here. Verizon service was solid for us - sufficient for us to hold video calls and stream content. Hogback Ridge hike was a nice stroll through the park.

Very nice state park campground. Really a surprice as we did not take reservation up front. We got #56. Good view on the mountains as well.
One of the best during our 11 State trip.

Late February in Colorado but we wanted a place to stay for a night while we waited out the 50-60mph winds ahead in our journey. What a pleasant surprise. 3 of the 4 loops are closed for the winter. Only D loop is open and the only one with electricity. Bathrooms are open, pay showers, although we did not use the shower. $1.25/10 minutes, quarters only, but there is a change machine. It appears that all or most of the sites are pull through with picnic table and fire ring. Price is $36 plus $10 park entrance fee. We have Verizon and good enough reception to stream tv. Yes, I’d recommend this park.

Very nice campground and very well-maintained. AT&T cell service was suitable for email and web browsing. Streaming was a bit spotty. It was $9 for the park entrance fee in addition to the $36 campsite fee. Very peaceful and worth your stay.

We had just come from Arches, and Monument Valley so weren't expecting much from this campground. It was such a quiet, and scenic campground. Had a view of the mountains as I sat eating breakfast in our rig. We will circle back here on our next trip through Colorado.

This state park campground is very well maintained and nestled in a beautiful location. There are not many campgrounds in the area but this is a gem. It is a bit pricy for not being full hook up. The sites are easy pull throughs and are very easy to maneuver and spaced out nicely. Loop D has nice views of the Spanish peaks. There were ants at the campsite and the mosquitoes were pesky at night but manageable. It is in a desert setting so please beware of cacti in the brush. It is very quiet and the facilities are well kept and clean. While electric was available, water hand pumps were in close proximity to campsites. The lakes are beautiful and pristine. Cell service seems to be strong in Loop D. There are nice walking trails near the campsites. Love how the campsites are spaced out and almost all are pull throughs. You do have to pay a state park fee on top of the campground fee to enter. Dump station is available.

Campground is open in winter. Sites well spread out. Bathroom was open with cold running water. Showers were by a fee. Also had to pay a $9 park fee to enter. Looked like a nice park with walking trails, a playground and a lake but expensive just for an overnight when passing through
