we arrived at red rock Canyon State Park only to find that it was full. We used Campendium to find this site located only a few miles north of the full state park. It was great, wonderful views, flat area, and strong cellular service, at least with T-Mobile. Very happy to a found this place.

We needed a place to set up the tent for a night between Sequoia and Death Valley National Parks. The turn off for Last Chance Canyon came up quick. Drive down for a half mile or so and there were at least three large turnouts for campsites; likely more further down the road based on other reviews. The road noise didn’t bother us at all. Relatively flat and easily accessible. It wasn’t that windy so we didn’t get dust in our tent, thankfully. It was great for a night; I wouldn’t want to spend too much time here in August because of the heat and lack of shade.

After spending two days in Death Valley, it was nice to find this dispersed camping as we made our way to Bakersfield. Look carefully for the turnoff as it is easy to miss. There are several round outs for camping so don’t stop at the first one. Keep going. We missed the weekend traffic and I suspect it could be a whole different experience with groups of off road vehicles. For us, we had peace and calm with views of the mountains.

Thanks Campendium! We would not have found this place without you. Wanted a few more days of vacation after camping in Sequoia National Forest. This was on our way home, so we took a chance.
