Overall Rating
Level parking with good views of the city. Love the gigantic roadrunner, and the surrounding landscape. Our only negative is the loud trucks and the few that exit at unsafe speeds. To get to the rest area we went all the way to the airport exit # 132 to come back east bound when, in fact, we could have conveniently taken exit # 135.

Our original plan had been to boondock over by the Organ Mountains. However, a few setbacks along the way during the week led us to decide to spend just one night in Las Cruces. What an incredible sight! We are parked right next to the recycled roadrunner, which is fun.overlooking Las Cruces and have watched the sun and clouds play their painting colors over it as well as on the Organ Mountains.
After staying here I think in the future we would plan to have a night here and then continue to our campground. It's quiet, there is plenty of space, the bathrooms are clean. if you are coming from the East you will pass it on I-10 and then turn around at the airport exit and come back. It's very easy and the roads are all good.
Oh, and the site is completely level, something we rarely find in campgrounds. :)

This is a rest stop off the I-10 just west of Las Cruces. It’s far enough off the freeway that it’s not too noisy. It has marked RV spots and a 24 hr max stay policy. There are bathrooms. This is a rest stop off the I-10 just west of Las Cruces. It’s far enough off the freeway that it’s not too noisy. It has marked RV spots and a 24 hr max stay policy. There are bathrooms. It has a nice overlook of the city. It’s a circle, so not the usual line of trucks running their engines next to you. Being a circle, you can do a lap to work out the best option and then pull in on the next lap.
We had enough room to keep the car hooked up and put out all 4 slides without being anywhere near the edge of the road.

We stayed here one night, got 3 hours up the road and realized we lost a cat! Drove back, found our cat, stayed another night. Great little stop for an overnighter. We had plenty of room in our slot to still put out our slides and had a good 4 feet to the actual roundabout of the road. Relatively quiet, great little stop!

Easy rest area to get in and out of that accommodates all sizes. There was another rig and a big rig truck the night we stayed but is far enough off the interstate to be quiet. Clean and felt safe.

This place was great! Great view, clean bathrooms, Free, and did I mention QUIET? It was awkward coming from the East so be prepared ahead of time but well worth the minor inconvenience.

Surprisingly quiet. Vans and RVs of all sizes. Easily found a space rolling in at 9:30p. Appears to be a lot of recent maintenance and landscaping.

Nice view of Las Cruces with picnic shelters. There are somewhat limited spots for trucks and larger RVs, we parked our 23 ft Sprinter van (170 wb) in one of the many car spaces with no issues though.

What a great find, thank you Campendium folks! This was plan B for Christmas Eve, but I'm glad i did. The view over Las Cruces was amazing! Bathrooms... good. Dog walk... meh, I ended up picking a dozen thorns out of his paws & my tennis shoes. All in all, good place for a night.
