The views around the campground are absolutely stunning. There are tall trees everywhere, creating plenty of shade, and a lot of the campsites back right up to the lake. It’s such a peaceful and beautiful spot, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.
Overall, it’s a fantastic place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it and would love to come back again!
Due to all the trees Starlink was definitely spotty.

Lake Ouachita State Park was a very pleasant experience! The campground was quiet despite being almost at 100% capacity. There was some lake noise during the day, but that's expected given the boating destination that is Ouachita. The campground host was incredibly hospitable, as was the Visitor Center employee that thankfully provided me much needed coffee. If you've made it this far in the review...know this...come for the lake, but stay for the sunsets - absolutely spectacular (especially after a storm). The 4-mile Caddo Bend Trail is only 0.4 miles from the campground, and it is an absolute must if staying at the campground. Get sweaty on the hike, then take a dip in the water to cool off. :-)

We had a fire each morning and at night. The weather was kind to us although it cooled off by the end of the week. We had an Instant Pot Thanksgiving, had so much fun preparing it.
We walked the short one half mile trail, we took the “Eagle Cruise” , spent one day shopping around Hot Springs. It was a fun five days.
Once in a while we could get a text out. Generally there was no cell signal.
We stayed from Nov. 22 until Nov. 27. We already have reservations for 2022.

We were in loop D, a non-hookup site, which was up on a hill and very quiet. Loops B and C were full, concrete, and fairly cramped. They also have cabins and camper cabins. The showers were recently redone and great. Sites are not especially level but not a huge deal.
Signal is not good. You can drive to certain spots (that they have marked on the campground map) but it's still not great.
The Caddo Bend Hiking Trail is a 4 mile loop around the penninsula - it's lovely, but don't try to run it and take good shoes, it very rocky. But a lovely walk.

Trees are pretty thick, but we were able to get direct TV to work.
Cell was poor - 1/2 bars max for Verizon and aT&T
