I think if we went back we'd get site A49, which is really close to the stairs going down to the lake. The DNR site says: No pad. Slopes slightly on back end of site. We thought getting our 19' trailer into the site (and getting it level) wouldn't be an issue.
The only downside was the sites around ours. We had a lot of discussions with our neighbors about where to park the trailer and at what angle was ok. Just some trees in odd places.

Had a spot on the outside loop. Listening to the waves at night we’re the perfect way to relax and fall asleep.
Ice Cream place connected to campground if very good!
Channel Campground was closed due to flooding when we were there, so the park didn’t seem crowded at all. We can’t wait to go back!

We’d tent camped here before, and remember it being nicer. Maybe it was later in the year. Busy, crowded campground with small sites, a lot with slopes that make it challenging for even a small camper like ours. Gentleman manning check in wasn’t able to tell us which sites were open so we had to go onto website to do a drive through. Ended up with site 64 which is a weird spot. Tons of space, but mostly the wrong side of the electric hook up. Muddy pad. Backs onto the dune so there’s that. Bathrooms were not the cleanest. Lots of noisy kids and dogs. We’re spoilt after our time on UP and are glad that we’re only staying one night.
