We needed help with our trailer/ the slide wasn’t working and we got a business card from the guy at the register at the cafe apparently where you check in, and we had a service guy out there in 5 minutes. Busy corner cafe around the corner when we headed out was worth the stop for food! Would def stop by again on our way out west!

We just stayed one night but all sites are pull thru with full hook up! Makes it very easy off the freeway but you can hear freeway noise… clean and great little cafe with ice cream shop was a added bonus!

We work from the camper during the week and the Wi-Fi was great, worked well enough to support video calls.
Unfortunately, the laundry was closed due to prior year damage so we had to hit a laundromat which was quite pricey but they did advise it should be fixed over the next few weeks.
One word of warning don’t be fooled by the “best burger in Iowa” it was maybe the okayest and that might be generous. The ice cream was delicious though so maybe skip the burger and go for an extra scoop.

You are between Hwy 80 and a cornfield. The freeway traffic doesn't bother me, but it is present. The RV park is managed out of the gas station and cafe which will accept RV'ers deliveries. They have a shower and laundry, neither did I use, but the laundry building was locked (didn't ask about it).

We were assigned a spot in the back, near the chicken coups. There was a rooster that began crowing at daybreak, but it didn’t bother us. Everything was clean and well cared for.

Kellogg RV Park is a cute little campground with some very nice touches...I'd recommend it and would stay here again with one big caveat. So the bad first...there's a big variation in site size/quality here, even though all the sites are the same price. All of the sites are fairly close, but sites #1-15 are VERY narrow (though fairly long) and some are tricky to get into/set up in due to trees and other obstructions. We were in site #2, and it was one of the worst...we had a huge tree right outside our door on one side and an inconveniently placed sign on the other side right against our slide (which we couldn't pull past because there was ANOTHER big tree just in front of our slide). We had very close neighbors on both sides (see pictures). I think we got stuck in this site because we have a relatively small trailer; there's no way a motorhome or 5th wheel with multiple slides would have fit. So I was a little resentful about paying the same price but getting such a cramped site. Sites 24-38 are very standard pull-throughs, still fairly narrow but much wider than our site was, with no trees. If I were staying again, I'd ask to be in that section (and make sure I wasn't put in site 2!)
Aside from that, this place has a lot going for it: clearly they've put a lot of love into it--there's some nice landscaping and common areas (while there was no room for hanging out in our site, there were several fire pits for common use with seating areas around them), adorable paintings on all the buildings, and a gas station with a good burger/ice cream restaurant at the front of the campground. Chickens in a little hutch in the back (and a rooster, which didn't bother us, but might have bothered the people in the back row). Bathhouse was newer and very clean--my only complaint there was no private changing area for the showers--just a thin curtain, so that I felt like I was walking into someone's bathroom at their house when I went in there while someone was showering. We were here for 2 nights while my son toured Grinnell, which was only about 15 minutes away. Note that they charge more when there are events at the nearby Iowa Speedway. Very convenient to the interstate (road noise didn't bother us, but we were at one of the sites farther from the road), all full hookup pull through sites.

This is a campground without a ton of amenities but it is a great spot to stop for a night or two along the way. All our interactions with the staff were very pleasant. Called to make a reservation and it was very easy. Check in to site was easy as well. We had a nice long pull through site that was plenty big for our 40' coach pulling a Jeep Gladiator. Restaurant that was adjacent had good food an excellent ice cream. Overall this is just a solid, clean, spot to stop for a night or two.

The burger joint looks clean enough and smells good but the real surprise is the ice cream. Instead of the ice cream bars so many spots offer they have hand packed quarts of homemade ice cream in many flavors. Apparently they have them all year long. What a shock. Bough two just in case! It is close to the interstate so new aware that you do hear traffic throughout the night.

And a note- the cafe attached to it either isn’t Iowa’s Best Hamburger place, or Iowa ought to be ashamed of itself.

“A long-term renter was allowed to ride a go cart around the park”
noted 7/2/2022
My husband and I stopped for an overnight stay on a cross-country trip from PA to Wyoming. We arrived at the site it was very well laid out limestone drives big pull through.
We were set up in just a few minutes and decided to sit out at the picnic table in the shade and have a beverage. A few minutes later a young girl started riding around in circles on the limestone Road on a little go kart with her little child I presume. She was going fast enough that she was making nothing but clouds of dust and I mean a lot. We asked her to stop and slow down she came by once and was a snotty little while I’ll go slow by your campsite. I went to come to the office to complain and found out that this is acceptable behavior from the management and the person working in the food service location upfront. She said that’s the way it is if we didn’t like it should give us our money back and we can go someplace else. Well in a matter of 20 minutes we’re hooked up we’re pulling out we’re going to the KOA an hour away from here. No rules no discipline entitlement don’t stay here!
