Entire area was covered with cockleburs and we were pulling/cutting them off our dog for several days. Rest rooms were clean but old. Shower head emitted a stream rather than a spray (good pressure tho). Have stayed in several COE campgrounds and would rate this the lowest.
Large sites with plenty of room between them. Ours was a paved and level site. All are paved, many are not level. Sandy ground around picnic table and fire pit.
Alongside a highway so get some traffic noise throughout the night.
Chose it due to its proximity to Sequoia National Park.
Google Maps took us past the entry of the campground to a COE boat ramp with a very tight turnaround (pickup with 29’ travel trailer)

Nice clean sites with a view of the lake. It’s pretty basic with picnic tables, fire pits, toilets, and showers. The road on the camp is paved and nice for a little bike ride. Close to Sequoia National Park, which is the only reason I could see paying $20 a night. The scenery was beautiful, but for $20 I would hope for a little more. I would struggle to call this big rig friendly because of the steep driveway and winding campground layout. The spots are paved but not many of them are level. There is a dump station here and community water spigots. You would need a water bandit if you wanted to fill your RV or just bring your jugs.

Pros: only 30 to 40 min to Sequoia NP, cheap, free showers, decent bathrooms, easy to get to, picnic table and fire pit, good camp hosts.
Cons: Cell service is spotty, little to no shade, lake is farther than you think, long line for the bathrooms and showers, sites are not very level.
Probably not always this way, but the crowd that was camping around us seemed to be the younger type, those looking to party and inexperienced campers in general. What I mean by that were people playing their music for the whole campground to hear and people setting up their tents at 9 pm using their high beams in the dark. Good thing the host came around to to quiet everything down around 10 pm.

We were originally at site 16 (which is on a hill and not big enough for my 16’x16’ tent) So we got the okay to move to site 50. At around 9pm the ranger came and gave us a hard time about switching spaces even though we had the okay from the main office. The bathrooms were dirty and the portapottys had mouse poop all over them. I wouldn’t use the shower; I’d rather be dirty the showers were so bad. There is no one there patrolling the area so you just have to pray no one comes in and steals your stuff while you go fishing or go sight seeing up in the sequoias. Also the 1 guy that is like the maintence man, came up to use and asked us to make sure our kids do not kill the trees growing. My kids were just sitting at the table they are very well behaved and listen well. He also smelled of alcohol. I wouldn’t stay here again, I’d rather sleep in my car!

Nice campground...but don't plan on coming here in the late spring/early summer. As the lake level rises the sites slowly disappear until all that are left are a few walk-in sites. We stayed here in mid-April and had to move to higher ground midway through our stay. The camp host told us that by mid-summer the water recedes and the sites reappear. Aside from the watery sites, we liked the location and enjoyed the lake view.
