The sites are large, but the pads are small. The pads are also in need of some repair. The roads around the park are more narrow than modern parks, but about what you would expect from a Corp of Army Engineers or State park. Overall, a decent park with nice views of the lake.

Not to many campers since it was the middle of February. Some very sketchy people looked to be living out of their car and using the bathrooms. The showers are worse than bad. It was ok for an overnight stay but we were happy to leave.

This is one of several COE parks on Lake Benbrook, just south of Fort Worth.
We have posted a video of our stay.

Very peaceful and spread out campsites. Our site was a little unlevel, but not a big deal. Great campground for walking, biking, wildlife. Love COE campgrounds!

Just spent two weeks here in site #48. Great view of the lake from my site, which had nice shade. I have stayed here before in some of the more crowded areas and wasn’t that impressed, but this loop changed my mind. The sites are not close together and it was even quiet on the weekends. Had 3 5G bars most of the time. Park is beautifully maintained. Never used the restrooms/showers so can’t report on that. Tip: dump station near entrance is on a slant, so go to the one on the far side of the campground. It’s level and a breeze to use. Also very close to Benbrook and Fort Worth which have many stores and restaurants.

Very quiet location. Power and water with a dump station near the entrance. The folks at the registration both were super friendly. Take your time in picking the spot you want. We like to be in the trees with lots of shade but most of the water front site are tree-less.

We needed a place to camp in our 5th wheel while passing through Fort Worth. We found this campground on Campendium and booked it through recreation.gov So with our National Park pass we were able to stay for only 13 a night. The site was well shaded but very unlevel. The site only had electric which was fine for us but they did a place for us to get water for tank and a dump station. The campsite was quite and we had no real issues except the not being level. So for the price we can’t complain. We have our own router and hotspot and we able to watch TV and use our computer without any problems.

When we got to Benbrook, we used the campground (CG) website instructions as we didn’t see any signage for the CG on US377 coming in from the east. We turned right onto Pearl Ranch Rd and followed it to the Holiday COE entrance about 2 miles straight down the road. Check in was easy and the guy who checked us in was very informative. We needed to fill our freshwater tank and he pointed out on the map the two dump stations with potable water. We proceeded to the dump station just inside the gate to find out there was not a potable water spigot just the usual rinse hose. We went back to the entrance and he informed us the park ranger had told him they are on well water and thus the water at the dump station was safe, even though there was a sign clearly stating it was not safe to drink. We were then told we could go to an empty camp site that had water hook-ups and fill up there, which we did. Not sure what we would have done if this had been a busy weekend with all of the water sites full. We then proceeded to pull through site 72 with 30/50 AMP. There was plenty of space for our 39’ fifth wheel and F-450 on the asphalt pad. The site had a covered cement patio with picnic table, and bbq/fire pit that we couldn't use due to a burn ban. Site 73 was the only other site in our little cul-de-sac. For the intent of this review, we toured the campground specifically looking for free standing water spigots, but didn't find any. The showers/restroom were old but in workable shape. If you want to stay where we did in sites 72-75 they were definitely electric only, contrary to what other reviews mentioned. There were water spigots at the sites but they had been capped off. Sites 76, 77, & 78 were also electric only and sat up on a hill with a slight lake view but are across the street from a neighborhood that backs up to the park. Sites 83 - 93 had water and electric as well as some of the sites near the front of the park. We got 3 bars on Verizon and a whole bunch of OTA channels. We enjoyed the view of the lake and privacy at our site since we were the only ones there the whole time of our stay during the week.

Although we arrived near sunset, we were right next to the lake and found this to be lovely campground. Lots of birds were around the site. We left the next morning but thought this was a campground we would like to revisit. It is a bit of a drive off the freeway but still doable for a quick overnight.

Nice spacious level sites. Each site had a lighted power pedestal and covered table. A long hiking/equestrian trail existed along the perimeter. But the bathrooms are old and in need of repair. They were very dirty. Glad to have my own bath in the trailer.
