Bear Creek Campground on Benbrook Lake. Nice COE campground. 👍 Easy access to DFW via Chisom Trail Parkway (toll road) takes 25 minutes to drive to downtown convention center. Drive through Benbrook & I20 takes 45 minutes.

About 20min from downtown Fort Worth, this is a large park setting with treed sites. Forget satellite. Dump Station and water fill on the way in, we had 50amp and water. Ignore the trashy motorhome at the entrance. Lake nearby, but watch the burrs on your doggies paws and fur.

Did some on line scrambling and suffered the standard cancellation fee ($24 in our case) to move to site 8, a shaded back in with 50 amp service.
Sites are reasonably clean, only a few cigarette butts on the ground, well spaced and most are of reasonable size with picnic table and combination fire ring/grill. A few sites, like 10 would not be suitable for anything over 25’. Noise from a large airport nearby is noticeable.
Clearly this park is not up to the standard we’ve come to expect of COE parks but we would stay here again.

The site we stayed on was super nice, looking out onto the water with a gentle slope down to the lake. Also, there is a model airplane field next door that was busy all weekend, little noisy but one heck of an airshow.
Cons - Grass needed cut, no playground, the picnic table shelter at our site and all surrounding our site was missing the shingles and starting to rot.
This place is close to Ft Worth and great if you are looking to just relax and do nothing.

The sites are well spaced out, but no trees or bushes to provide privacy. They also have a curfew of 10:00pm when they lock up the gates, so if you're going out for the night, I'd suggest you call a Lyft and you can walk back in to the campground. Otherwise, there's no parking outside of the campground!
This was a great site for our first official stay at the very beginning of our trip, but the bugs and wind were insanity... Big hairy, black spiders with bodies that were the size of my thumb, gigantic wasps that would attack the camp stove, and swarms of tiny gnats that would cover the outside of the trailer at night!
Overall, 4 star rating (minus 1 star because of the 10:00 pm curfew and the bathrooms were actually not too well kept).
