Lots of good facilities including clean laundry room, super nice heated pool, lightly wooded sites, dog park, and playground. Activities available, plus a shuttle to the actual beautiful Holden Beach, which is 5-10 min away. Groceries and restaurants within that 10 minutes, and larger town with good assortment of medical, shopping, and things to do just 15 minutes. We originally booked for 4 winter months (monthly rates) but decided to extend for March to enjoy the beach more.

Very nice campground. Friendly staff, level spots. Very convenient to the beach area and Supply. Kind of a long haul to get over to Oak Island, though, due to having to go up to Supply and then back down. The pool looked VERY nice… although we visited right when Tropical Storm Ophelia hit so neither that, nor the beach was able to be enjoyed much. The bathhouses looked very nice as well. The only thing we would suggest they improve upon is improved directional signs within the park. The main roads aren’t paved- they are the same crushed stone as the sites. It’s very confusing driving from the “new” section where we were over to the office, which is by the old section. Seriously- we had to make three stabs at finding it WITH the map in hand. We’ll be back though!

Check in was easy and we were escorted to our site. We were site 101 which was a small back in towards the front of the park, fhu. Busy area with campers coming and going. What we liked about this site was there was a smaller area to the site with the fire ring. Very nice and gave some privacy. It also connected to the small parking spot for the vehicle since the site was too small. My only complaint is we came back to camp on our last night and someone had taken our designated parking spot for this site so we had to try and cram our truck into our site. Maybe number that parking spot so that others know it is reserved for site 101 might be helpful. Other than that, it was great and we said we would stay again.

The staff are fantastic and are always going around cleaning and patrolling the camp, when a spot is vacated they are in raking it out and cleaning it very nice touch. Check in is easy plus they take you to your spot. The upper campground is covered in big trees the lower and newer part still have trees but not as big. Probably better chance at picking up Satellite TV. There is no cable TV but they do have a good internet. Over airTV is good . large fenced Dog Yard. They have a trolly service that will take you to the beach so that you don't have to pay for parking. Lot's of good restaurant's, especially the Cove which is just down the street.

When we pulled in I thought “oh no what did we do” but once we settled in we found it to be just perfect. New bathrooms, attentive and friendly staff. We were there to meet our daughter’s boyfriend’s parents and even hosted them for Sunday brunch at our site.
Don’t be put off by the entrance. There is a whole new area in the back.

HBRV is a couple of miles from the beach. A jumping off point to area attractions - beaches, seafood, ferries, etc.
A fellow camper near me in the ‘older section’ said - when discussing a different RV park - ‘it’s not like here - all cramped together.’ There are permanent/busy work camper sites - some not maintained, sites parking straight in, noise upon noise. Go-cart motor work carts zooming around, kicking up the ever present road dust. We did not sit outside once. Neighbor’s sewer was too close to my trailer door.
Small grassy open space and book exchange.
The HBRV map on the website shows an undeveloped forest on the eastern end of the older section. This end is actually bordered by a metal fence and on the other side of this fence are permanent sites, sheds, etc - granted, with a few trees. I wrongly expected an undeveloped forest.
Holden Beach itself - beautiful, serene, nice place to park a chair and relax. Recommend researching public parking there to understand its limits.

We stayed at Holden Beach RV last week for the first time! Total hidden gem! Some sites are cramped, but pretty typical for a beach area campground. My husband and I worked during the errand had wonderful WiFi connection! We loved it so much, we booked for October before we even left!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here. Even though our campsite was located at the entrance, it was still pretty quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Picnic table and fire ring are provided. AT&T phone reception was 1 bar inside our van. Very Clean bathrooms!
