This was an overnight stop for us. Did not unhitch. Vonda, the owner, was busy digging post holes when we arrived. She stopped long enough to check us in and escort us to our level, grass pull-thru, full hookup site. She even provided a door mat. We had over a dozen TV channels over the air and 4 bars of Verizon LTE service. This place is pet friendly and has 2 off-leash fenced areas. Vonda has a quarter horse named Armor that you may pet and give treats with Vonda’s supervision. The park continues to recover from last year’s hurricane but is completely functional. There are no bathhouse facilities. The park is next to Interstate 10 (East) but we were not bothered by the traffic noise due to our air conditioner.

We wanted to have a couple days downtime in a park so we made reservations here. When we arrived we almost cancelled and left because the park looked real rough from the hurricane devastation. Once we talked to the owner we decided she could use the money so we stayed 2 days. She was a very nice person and is working hard to get the campground back to what it was before the storm. Easy access off I10 and we would not hesitate To go back on future trips.

Vonda is the most generous owner we have met in our 20,000 miles of travel. She has a heart of gold and made us feel so welcome. She even put down a mat at our door and adds a personal touch that does not go unnoticed. The area was hit by a hurricane, but they are rebuilding and it is a worth the stop!

Stayed here overnight on our way home. It is convenient because it is right off the highway. The owners greeted us and treated us like royalty! You can tell they put their heart and souls into this campground and they are proud of their accomplishments. They escorted our 45 ft a class to a pull through site and it was level for the most part . They have trash cans right in front of the sites for your convenience. The only thing about our site was highway noise but they are working on planting bamboo and we didnt mind as our coach is pretty soundproof. They even gave us a carpet so we didnt have to get our personal mat out ! So thoughtful! We wish them all the luck with the future and will stay there if we pass through again ! .

This Hitchin' Post is just minutes off of Interstate 10. I was on the first day of a trip beginning in Central Florida and heading west. I had called a couple of days ahead but there were a handful of sites still available around 5pm. Easy access from I-10 and a friendly welcome from the owners made this a pleasant stop and one I definitely recommend.
The campground is a little "quirky" meaning the Owner's are doing it their way. But their heart shows and I found it a fun stay. Earl enjoyed nosing the tether ball suspended from a tree in the dog park. I enjoyed the wi-fi which was surprisingly good. The pull-through sites are compacted shell and the roadways have recently been topped with asphalt.
As a location, Cottondale, Florida doesn't offer much, but as a friendly stopover, the Hitchin' Post rules. The only annoyance (not the fault of the Owner's) was that Gnats were in out in full.
Some of the sites near I-10 could be a bit noisy but this was made clear on arrival. There is a Love's Plaza on the way out which is a good place to get fuel.

Small, well kept privately owned and operated campground. Easy access for big rigs, mostly level sites, full hookups, Fire ring, picnic table and chairs. Enjoyed our days unwinding here. John and Vonda are living out their dream and their passion shows. They meet/greet/check all guests in at entrance, escort to site, lay out a mat by your stairs and quickly deliver free fire wood. Small private lake guests allowed to fish in. Trail for walking through field and around one side of lake. Dog park areas fenced and common area with several yard games to choose from. Rustic charm, well kept with intentions to expand. Great WiFi and cell service. About an hour drive to Panama City Beach, Two state parks within 12 miles. Nearest towns with stores approx 10 miles. Super convenient to Hwy 231 and I-10. Loves truck stop near entry as well as a McDonald’s and Arby’s. Some sites do have the interstate behind them ours did but the road noise wasn’t an issue for us. Felt safe here and we would stay again.

We stayed at the Hitcin Post for two nights this past week. What nice stay! We have a 40ft 5th wheel with 4 slideouts, we opted for a back in wooded lot and had absolutely no trouble getting in. Water pressure was great and the internet service was better than some of the bigger campgrounds we've stayed at. The owners are SUPER nice people who have created a really cute campground. We chose the Hitchin Post because of its location to the FL Caverans State Park and the Falling Waters State Park. It is exactly half way between both making it very convenient. We will definitely stay there again when we are up that way!! One other thing to mention is the meat market just down the street from the campground. We got ribeye steaks for the grilland they were the most tender and flavorful we had eaten in a long time. It is also worth checking out!

We stayed at the Hitching Post Corral & Campground RV Park for 2 nights on June 14 and 15, leaving on June 16, 2017. Where do I begin? Our overall experience was excellent. The most hospitable campground owners we have encountered and we have been doing this for 22 years. We just left the campground 30 minutes ago and I couldn't wait to post this review.
When we arrived, they greeted us at our vehicle. Check-in was easy and right at our vehicle. Most places require you to park your vehicle and walk into the office. After check-in, they guided us to our site and assisted us with backing in and made sure we were happy with the site. They are a hard working couple that make it their mission to provide a happy and satisfying camping experience. The campground has a refreshing look and feel to it. The owners have done an amazing job and they continue to add their style. They have amenities for folks and kids to use. Volleyball, bean bag toss, ladder ball, horse shoes and bowling to name a few. They have two dog runs and a corral for horses.
Hitchin Post Corral & Campground RV Park is within 30 minutes of the Falling Waters State Park and Florida Caverns State Park. We visited both during our stay and highly recommend them both.
Hitchin Post Corral & Campground RV Park is two minutes off of I-10 in Florida, Exit 130. It is very convenient if you need a place to stop for the night, a week or to visit the wonderful state parks nearby. They have 24 full hookup sites, with 20, 30 and 50amp hook up. They have wifi and it works really well. Most of the sites are pull through. They have fire rings and fire wood on the premises.

New park with sites in the woods that are like camping in the old days. Fire rings for roosting marsh mellows and telling stories to scare the grand kids. Yet all the benifits of power, water, sewer and great wifi. LOVED IT.

Love the Hitchinpost 5 minutes off exit 130 The owners are the best you could ever wish for in this business, they are hard working and make a wonderful team. They greeted us in the rain with an umbrella so that we didn't have to get out to register and we didn't even have a reservation. They even honor passport America after hours, on weekends and holidays, after we checked in they took us to our site and offered to help us set up. The roads are wide with an entrance and exit with 24 full hook up sites and the whole park is Big Rig Friendly. Best ( free ) Wi-Fi state of the art electrical pedestals with lighting, 2 fenced in dog parks, Corral's and round pen for horse's, badmitton, volleyball, horseshoe's and more for all age's including fishing this place is awesome and our family is looking forward to staying there again as we travel the area especially the kids, they loved the white bunnies that visit the campers from time to time and all the games.
