The road has traffic every 15-20 minutes.
A campfire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grilling area are at every site, as well as a pavilion in the center with two covered picnic tables.
I would definitely visit again when I am in the area!
(Lost 1 star as someone was in my reserved site, but I happily moved to the next site until they left the next morning.)
openroadsendlessfreedom would stay here again

To get to this campground, you have to drive down a clay dirt road. If it has rained recently, it will be a muddy mess. The campground is small (3 sites) and very tight. We are in a 27 ft TT and barely made it around the circle so be aware if you decide to stay. It is apparent that many didn't make it around based on the damage on the pavilion. Although we heard WMA employees check the site, they must not enforce the rules regarding having a reservation and length of time you stay. We had a reservation for site 2 for 2 nights (only stayed 1). There was a homeless person in site 1 that has obviously been there for quite some time. Trash was left in the fire pit but the rest of the area was relatively clean. There is quite a bit of traffic heading to the boat ramp (cars with no boats) during the week, at night - so take that for what it's worth.
It has been very rainy in the area so the mosquitoes are horrendous.

This campground is free to use as long as you apply for a permit from the Florida Water Management District ahead of time. We had a permit for a specific site, but it became immediately apparent upon arrival that others frequent this campground without a permit as they were in our site. We arrived at night with nowhere else to go, so we reluctantly moved to the last remaining site open (only 3 sites in campground).
The next morning we awoke to find black smoke billowing from our originally assigned site, which was actually trash left burning in the fire pit from the campers who were nowhere to be found. Later that day, we saw local teenage kids driving into the campground to do what looked like a small time drug deal. Two cars parked side by side, a foot apart, windows rolled down, a plastic baggie passed through the window...you get the picture.
This place has great bones, so with a bit more oversight it would be a nice place to stay, but for now I’m gonna pass on reserving my next stay there.
