We camped here in early October 2017 at a waterfront site. It was spacious and lovely. The campground was very clean, as were the restrooms. It was very quiet and there were plenty of sites free at that time of year, although the waterfront sites were booked for the holiday (Columbus Day) weekend. The sites are large enough for small to medium sized rigs. We didn't see anything larger than small trailers and popups so there may be no sites large enough and there are no hookups. I went for a swim in the clear water and and we walked the trails in the surrounding woods and around the pond. It is a lovely place, a few hills but no nearby mountain vistas, remote from cities or towns. The pond is very small, not really a kayaking attraction except for kids or if you just like to float in a boat and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Part of the road into the park is unpaved; one of us arrived by motorcycle and he said that it was a bit difficult to traverse but he would go there again. Check in was fine and the ranger was very nice. Book early if you want a waterfront site.

Half Moon Pond was beautiful, tranquil, and perfect for a calming get away. I brought my boyfriend for his 40th birthday and it was ideal. The cabin was clean and really good sized with a table, bunk beds, a futon, electric, a big beautiful deck out back overlooking the pond, a picnic table, a fire ring and trees nearby to string our hammocks. The bathrooms and showers were close and kept up nicely. We were able to hike the available trails, get firewood from the main office and drive to Fort Ticonderoga for the day. I loved it and will most definitely will be back, only for longer next time :)
