If you want to see the most beautiful beach in North America, this area is it. Sugar white sand and emerald waters. The Campground has a long history and have been upgraded for full hook ups but the southern loop has no sewer hook ups but well worth a little sand and privacy. Try and get a site on the lake where you still hear the sound of the surf over the dunes. Close to lots of great restaurants and seaside activities.

Only about a quarter mile walk to the beautiful white sand beach on the emerald coast. Park is very convenient to nice restaurants and shopping on trendy highway 30A. Worth it to book a site on the lagoon, as you can walk a short trail and enjoy great sunrises and sunsets.

In my opinion, the best site in the campground (if you don't mind partial hookups) is site #10. It's the only one with a water view.
There are 2 loops, one with full hookups near the road and one with partial hookups by the lake. We noticed some road noise when we walked through the full-hookups loop, but found ours to be relatively quiet when the nearby military base wasn't making noise.
The showers were decent. Adjustable hot water, locking doors plus curtains.
The beach is gorgeous and is an easy walk from the campground.

This is our first time camping here and I'm sure it won't be the last. Secluded nice sites, a quiet beach, and endless biking. Clean, modern bathroom facilities and excellent park staff. The lower loop is the original campground and the upper being only a few years old. The lower is mostly sand but has much better tree cover. The newer loop is paved with gravel sites. The prime sites in my opinion are the lake water front sites in the lower loop. The 30a bike trail is 18+ miles connecting some authentic beach towns to newer planned communities. Make sure you checkout the airstream food court at the Water color village. Bring bug repellent for the biting flys. The beach is great and non crowded and of course beautiful emerald green waters and white barking sands. Make sure you grab a organic cinammon roll from la loba's bakery in Santa Rosa beach.

Last year when we camped at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park we scouted out Grayton Beach State Park for our next FL adventure. Even though it looked great on a drive-by, it was so much more perfect than we could have expected!
The newer portion of the CG is clean, unshaded, semi-private and full hookup. It also has easy access to bathrooms and is not dusty. The older loop on the other hand is very dusty, very private (can't see neighbors at all), has weird access to bathrooms (down various paths through the woods), has lake access (from a few sites) and has very narrow and tight sites. Both have positive qualities and it depends on what you're looking for.
We stayed at site 18 which is one of the 2-3 sites on the old loop that have lake front views. The view from our site was glorious and the lake was only 15' away. It was SO nice to sit in our campsite and watch the ripples of the lake and enjoy the dunes in the background. Best site is a toss-up between 18, 20 and maybe 10. I'm really torn between staying in one of these sites next year or staying in the newer loop. I LOVED the lake access and privacy of our site, but it was really tight, as are most sites in the older loop. I'm leaning towards newer full hookup sites next year but we'll see.
Some highlights for us...especially compared to Topsail...
-drive right up to beach
-lake view
-2 miles from Seaside
-privacy
-smaller park (less traffic)
-nicer beach (IMHO)
-nightly rate included parking fee!
While I like to never repeat a CG in the spirit of exploration, we've decided that this is the one place that we'll visit every year. Just as a side note; we made this reservation 11 months out to get the site that we got. 11 months is the earliest you can reserve and I'd recommend planning far ahead to avoid one of the less preferred sites. I'll update our blog soon with a more thorough review.

You are about a 1/2 mile walk to the beach from the campground or just a short drive.
Grayton Beach is an adorable little town or you can drive up 30A to Seaside which has some restaurants and music in the town center during the summer.
We had electric and water hook ups which was nice because we were there in the middle of summer so it was nice and warm outside.
You don't really see your neighbors due to the way the sites are divided by foliage.
We can't wait to get back!

Sites near the water do not have sewer hookups, only water and 30 amps. I believe site #10, the one we stayed in, has the best water view. 4G cell service for both AT&T and VZ was excellent. They also have a washer and dryer for $2 per load each. Lots of restaurants and full service grocery stores close by. On the downside, it’s a small park so hiking opportunities are limited and dogs are not allowed on the beach. There is a dump station within the park.

Loved this campground! Many people had recommended Grayton Beach State Park so we arrived with high expectations. All of which were met or exceeded. We stayed in the older loop where the sites are hard packed sand with dense foliage between for privacy. We also had electric and water hook-ups, which was good because the tree cover was so thick that our solar panels would have been useless. Our site was plenty long for our 25' trailer & truck, with room in the back and on the side for a nice sitting area. Since we didn't have a sewer hook-up (the sites in the new loop have them) we used the showers in the campground and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, good water pressure and roominess of the showers. Aside from the campground, the beach is the very best part of staying here. Located only a short 1/2 mile walk or bike ride from our site was the most gorgeous, most pristine, white sugar sand beach I have ever seen. We spent most of our time simply enjoying the beach, but the area is packed with other things to do including a visit to the nearby town of Seaside for some tasty eats at one of the Airstream food trucks. Loved it here and we can't wait to go back!
