Unfortunately (as of 8.27.2022) this place is closed until further notice. It would have been a glorious area with the large creek and tall pines before the 2021 fire. The road up to the campground skinny and winding, but paved. Access is easy

Good place a few fully paved miles off of hwy 50. 1/2 hour to South lake Tahoe. Able to find a gravel space on a busy weekend. Close to the river but a steep walk down. We had a 21 ft trailer and was super easy negotiating the area. No water, or toilets. No cell coverage. Mostly shaded.

This is a hidden gem. Got here at 4p on a Sat in July. There were 4 spots open and 2 were never used. Large spaces spread out. 3 min walk to a creek. Flat paved road until campsite, then gravel. You can hear some people partying from neighboring campsites but nothing crazy.

Small, no frills CG, but I decided to (disperse) camp nearby. Stayed in a previously used site in my 24 footer, right next to the road. I really enjoyed the area, nice and quiet. Did a couple of hikes up some forest roads. Caught a lot of fish in the river. Easy access to the river, which is picturesque. The road down from Kyburz is easy to drive.
The only drawback is the used TP, which seemed to be everywhere (outside of the campground). Any hiking near the river on the east side seemed to be like TP breadcrumbs everywhere...kinda disgusting.
If you want even more privacy, there is a CG up forest road 10N24, which is across the road from the CG. I'm pretty sure it's at 38.736891, -120.240623. I hiked to it, and I cannot imagine that it gets busy up there.
