We planned to stay at this site on March 6th. There is no disbursed camping along the Forest Service Road. All campsites were at the end of the road in a loop. There were at least 8 regular campsites and a section that was handicapped accessible. The camp areas generally had a small parking area next to the drive and the tables and pads are blocked off by boulders, making it more practical for tent camping. There were a couple of sites we might have been able to fit our teardrop into, but the campground was full. There was a decent toilet and some trash bins. It seemed that if you were not able to get a riverfront campsite, you would not be able to access the water. Due to the popularity and close proximity of the sites, we will not be back.

Stayed here Friday and Saturday night. Pretty good for tent camping, car or van camping. I had a tiny trailer and was not able to get beyond the huge boulders they use to keep folks out of the tent camping areas. Found a mostly flat area to put up my awning and screen room outside the boulders. Only 4 others here on Friday, but Saturday night the place filled up. Mostly quiet. My site was on the river - wonderful sound! Unfortunately the whole place was a bit trashy and the trash bins pretty full. There is a vault toilet that was pretty nasty. Nothing seems to get cleaned very often. The road down was approximately 2 miles of gravel and dirt with some ruts - this is not the place for a full-sized RV or even 5th wheel. Definitely more for tents and self-enclosed camper cars/vans. Also very wet and muddy in places due to recent rain. No reservations or check in - first come, first served. About 12 or so campsites. Some with fire rings and lantern posts. Apparently good fishing. Follow trail to the left to find a nice river spot. No cell service. Hardly any bugs! I would stay again, because it's FREE!
momothevine would stay here again
