The train is right on the other side of the river, so it’s loud, but didn’t pass through much after sunset. Would definitely recommend.

I said I wouldn't camp here again because of the 6 mile dirt road into the campground. That was a drawback for me. For those who don't mind that, you're right on the river and there's a good trail next to Glade Creek. The bathrooms, no water, are clean.

This is a very small campground. Great tent camping been along the shores of the new river. There were six sites for RVs etc. it was all dry camping. Fantastic hiking along glade creek. I recommend only small campers with RVs 25 feet or less to make it into this campground. Very large campers driving in will call for nerves of steel!

There is a train track on the other side of the new river but it is barely noticeable.
You‘re really off grid there: no at&t service, no power, no water. Next shopping is about 10-12 miles away but due to the 6 mile gravel road it takes an hour to get there ;)

We have absolutely loved this location. We were able to get our 38 foot RV down to the campground. It was a bit nerve-racking driving down the gravel road about 6 miles and crossing the small wooden bridge. But we were able to do it. We will definitely be camping here again.

What I will add is that we were researching areas for future tent and RV boondocking adventures and at least one of the drive up sites were possibly capable of holding a 36' RV although the road back to it is tight at times. 18-20' I am absolutely sure will fit in almost all of the sites.
The way these are set up is that they have a parking spot next to the pad and several have two spots so you could unhook the trailer and park next to it or you can park your vehicle there and camp in a tent on the pad.
We went there today and there was snow on the ground and the roads, but had no problems getting in and out with my truck in 2 wheel drive. The roads have been scraped although not salted and the roads in the park are gravel and had very good traction. On the way out, the road you turn onto from the park was covered in packed snow with some gravel here and there but was easily passable.
This is a beautiful site and very welcoming and well maintained. Cell service for Verizon is very meager; at best 1 bar of 1G service intermittently. We look forward to adding another review in the near future as this one is just too good to pass up. Today is 26 December 2020 and the park appears to be fully open year round.

There were 2 other campers on a Saturday night, which was nice and quiet. It’s about 5 miles down a nice dirt road, easy to drive on. There’s no AT&T service upon arrival. A few spots you could locate a bar to send a message, but that’s it. Lots of trees to hang a hammock. Each site had a fire ring, picnic table and a pole to hang food from. No electricity or water so be sure to bring your own. Overall, enjoyed my stay!

This place was worth everyday we spent there. The trails were beautiful. The water was really cold but great spots were available to swim. Will be staying here again soon.
