“DON'T USE GPS TO FIND THIS CAMPGROUND!”

We put it into our GPS and couldn't find the entrance to the park! We googled the physical address and finally found the campground. There was no one at the front gate at check-in time, so we made our way to our campsite and was greeted by the camp host and given a map. Alot of Lantern flies! Dump station available

We had site 32. Next to bathroom in front of the lake. Beach is not clean , I am not sure we could swim here. Our site is terrible do not pick this one , picnic table is old and broken, there are no flat aera where we could position our 2 chairs. There are no space on this site. We stay 8 days/7 nights so that we could do Gettysburg National Military Museum, Strasburg for the PA Railroad Museum, Harrisburg and Hersey. We stay 8 days/7 nights so that we could do Gettysburg National Military Museum, Strasburg for the PA Railroad Museum, Harrisburg and Hersey.
Not all sites are level so read the details of any site you are looking at.
Showers are clean but older but many shower houses throughout the campground.
The closest town is approximately 20 minutes away (Dover) or a larger town is 30 minutes away (York).
We will definitely use this State Park again if back in the area.

The lake was polluted with goose poop and it was unsafe for people or dogs. It was filled with bacteria. STAY AWAY

Stayed just one night. Typical state park stay. Free hot shower. Very convenient to Harrisburg and to Gettysburg in the opposite direction. The site was small but secluded. It was directly across from the bath house so very noisy at 6AM.

This CG is very convenient to the Gettysburg area. We got in late and left early so didn’t get much of a chance to interact with the host or staff. The bathrooms were fairly clean but definitely in need of an update, concrete floors can only go so far. Sites were not very level but this seems to be common to PA state parks; about 6-8” dip corner to corner on our 144” wheel base Sprinter.

We had site 35. 30/50 amp electric only. Nice state park setting. Site 35 is near a bathhouse and small beach area at the lake (and small playground). Water spigot across the road. We had site 35. 30/50 amp electric only. Nice state park setting. Site 35 is near a bathhouse and small beach area at the lake (and small playground). Water spigot across the road. Site was very spacious and easily accessible with our 32ft Class C motorhome, car dolly and towed vehicle. Overall had a good experience. Only suggestion for improvement that I have is I wish the state park would cut down 1 tree that is right next to your camper when you park. Not able to put awning out at all on our rig.

Nice state park with friendly staff. Camped in a conversion van in a non electric site which was almost level, large and quite private. Warning that water spigots are not threaded and a number of no electricity sites will not fit a van or small camper (steep grade and/or too short) so look closely at descriptions. Nice state park with friendly staff. Camped in a conversion van in a non electric site which was almost level, large and quite private. Warning that water spigots are not threaded and a number of no electricity sites will not fit a van or small camper (steep grade and/or too short) so look closely at descriptions. I had to park at an angle to fit on the paved area and the tent area was inaccessible for drive in.
Bathrooms are essentially clean but in serious need of a renovation Did shower and it worked but not very nice at all. Lake is lovely though!

Stayed here during closing weekend 2022. Our site had electric and a view of the lake. Some site are quite small, so check pics before you book. We were self contained so didn't use bathrooms. Firewood from the campground was wet, but it was closing weekend. Would like to go back in the summer to kayak and use lake.

We had a perfectly wooded site not far from the water, but due to recent rains, everything was flooded. Bathhouse was clean and functional. A great choice for a state park.
We needed firewood and the host was more than willing to deliver the wood. The only complaint is the wood wasn’t seasoned.
