Camped on the lake shore, was beautiful, and hot. Check out the roads once inside the park before you take your RV there. There are some hills with bad rutting.

Better places to swim for adults further along the shore. A few locals came and sat in their cars, as is always the case with free campgrounds, but no one came near our site or bothered us in any way. Beware toilets might not be open. There is one building with toilets near the beach but it was locked when we were there. No water, no portapottys and no dump station. It’s a really lovely campground. Would definitely stay again.

This is a very nice day use area but there is a lot of strange traffic at all times of the day
Pros
- Beautiful area with nice fields, trees and lake front spots
- Day use features include a boat ramp, swimming area, picnic/camping areas with trash bins and concrete tables.
- Very enjoyable during the day. We had very nice weather; being from Canada, it felt like summer in February. I imagine this is a top notch day use area in the summer.
Cons
- The terrain is hilly and steep in some places making it difficult for large rigs to find a good level spot. We found a nice lake front spot with steep roads on both sides.
- There is a lot of strange traffic at all hours of the day. Some cars are driving by slowly past your site and some are playing an annoying bass that carries very far. Its creepy and annoying.
- The location is also next to a gravel road that sees a lot of local traffic as it is a useful short cut to get from the north side of the lake to the west side of Breckenridge.
- There is an upsetting amount of litter everywhere despite bins being spread out everywhere. Fish hooks on the beach. Bits of cans that went through the lawnmower all over the place. Please put it in the trash people!

Set up to stay last night. Only one other camper in the area but was out of sight from where we set up. We really enjoyed the campground. This place is around the dam on the north end of the lake. We dry camped during the week day and we had the place to ourselves. Plenty of spots next to the lake to choose from. Enjoy

Had a couple of nights where some of the locals came and parked, (and for some reason chose to do so right by us even though we were the only ones camping there.) The bathroom were unlocked when we got there but they locked them on the 3rd day we were there. Had a orange tabby cat that visited us every afternoon, but was going by morning. The ducks were plentiful on the lake if you’re into bird watching. Heard a couple of hawks. We will definitely return, but probably choose a different site to avoid the late night locals passing through.

Boondocked for two nights. Was alone most of the time. Nice reservoir and clean area but windy. Good 5G service with AT&T and T-mobile. Dirt roads can make it difficult to drive to certain spots so keep that in mind.

That is if you don’t count the two cats patrolling for mice! Gorgeous views of the reservoir with the sunset over the water. One vehicle drove through before midnight then all was quiet. We drive from the hill country to north Texas to see family at least once a month. This will be a regular stop from now on! Plenty of space for larger rigs and cozy spots for smaller ones and tents.

Absolutely great stay here. There is an unpacked road for about a mile or 2 leading to the camp sites, but we handled it well in a 2wd Toyota dolphin. Completely free for up to 7 days stays, and only campers are allowed between 8pm and 8am. The gate is open overnight though, as we got in around 9:30pm. GREAT cell phone service for ATT,... more

GREAT cell phone service for ATT, T-Mobile, and Verizon due to cell towers across the lake. Great place to work. Lots of camp sites. Town of breckenridge also has free dump and water
