We are 64 ft and 52,000 lbs and do not fit in a lot of places. Just off the turnpike easy in and out. T Mobile signal good enough to stream TV.

A classic fairground setup: Find a pedestal and a piece of grass. The fairgrounds are well taken care of, but $30 per night is too rich for my blood for a simple overnighter with just electricity. Interstate 80 is 1/2 mile way so road noise is persistent.

Too expensive for dry camping imho. Perhaps fair for hookups. Instead, I found a nearby Cracker Barrel for $0 per night.

The fairgrounds are well maintained, and as convenient to the turnpike as could be. However, the whole place is very poorly marked. We drove past the first time, looking for a camping sign, but then chose an entrance at random as we made our 2nd pass. We saw a very small sign giving instructions about camping, and found a box with envelopes. They directed us to deposit the payment in the caretakers building, but there was no sign identifying the building. We came across a building that had a slot in the door marked Drop box, and put our payment there. The payment envelope had been sealed when we got it, so we couldn’t re-seal it. Then we saw information that only one bathroom was open, at the other end of the property. Again, no signs, but we eventually found it. We chose a campsite near it, as we had a tiny teardrop with no bath. The site we chose then had no electricity.

It can be hard to find free or inexpensive camping in the east, and especially along the I90/80 corridor. I've heard that many county fairgrounds across the country offer camping. Often, fairgrounds rent out their campgrounds between events as a way to generate some income and support fair initiatives. So, while traveling west this past spring, we decided to take an up close and personal look at this option.
The Fulton County Fairgrounds was one of several options along the interstate in Ohio. We were close to this fairground towards the end of a long day of driving and chose to give it a try. We pulled into the main entrance, and while it was not immediately clear how and where we were supposed to check-in - we found a bulletin board that gave instructions. Basically, if no one is around you head back to the campground, choose a spot, and deposit $$ and registration form at Building #19. There was no registration form at the bulletin board even though it indicated that there should be. A map was provided on the bulletin board. We drove back, found a spot and inquired with another RVer what the process was - and as it turned out, he was a seasonal resident who helped with campsite registration, even though it was not obvious that he did this. So, we ended up paying him and he gave us a tag for our truck window.
It was pretty laid back, and we were one of only two other campers that night. There is a bathhouse with hot showers, and it was clean and accessible. Full hook-ups are included with the 20.00 fee - but we choose to just get a site with electric.
It was quiet, even though the grounds are just off I80/90 and traffic from the interstate was visible in the distance. And, good cell service.
One of the things I liked most about staying here was that we walked the fairgrounds in the early evening after dinner - it was of course deserted since there were no events happening - and that made it all the more fun.
