Overall Rating
What a gem to find a free dump station with potable water and garbage bins. Couldn't ask for more. This station does get used a lot because it is free so be prepared for a small wait in line. Excellent chocolate and coffe house just the other side of the rest area.

Easy access from the freeway, right at the Welcome Center. Clean bathrooms. Free CO maps. Clean, two-sided dump site with potable water.
Signs say no overnight parking...

Pretty dang nice free dump station. Easy access right off I-70. Dual lane dump station with potable water right there. VERY convenient. Also seems to be very popular as there was a line when we arrived, but things moved quickly. Pretty dang nice free dump station. Easy access right off I-70. Dual lane dump station with potable water right there. VERY convenient. Also seems to be very popular as there was a line when we arrived, but things moved quickly.
There are RV parking spots at the visitors center, but again, it seems like a popular place so there were quite a few RVs there when I was there (Monday early afternoon).
Overall, a GREAT place to dump and fill!

“Convenient and quiet”

We were driving from outside of Denver to Moab and had a later start than we had planned. Around the Fruita area we were worn out and decided to stop for the night. We used the Welcome Center facilities, locked up, and crawled into bed for the night. We had no issues and it was actually very quiet considering it was in the heart ... more
We were driving from outside of Denver to Moab and had a later start than we had planned. Around the Fruita area we were worn out and decided to stop for the night. We used the Welcome Center facilities, locked up, and crawled into bed for the night.
We had no issues and it was actually very quiet considering it was in the heart of things. It was bright though due to the lights from the near by Vietnam Veteran's War Memorial.
We didn't use the dump station but there was a very long RV there using it and it had no trouble maneuvering in or out. There was also water available.
If you are stopping for a quick night, I recommended the James M Robb State Park which is about a quarter of a mile away and would have been much darker. But for dump station convenience it seemed like a great option.
One warning.. The bathrooms were closed for cleaning for an hour between 7 and 8. Not sure if that is the norm, but it is what pushed us out to find the nearby state park.
