All sites are well separated.
IMPORTANT: Save at least a half day to tour the spectacular 23 mile drive thorough the Colorado National Monument which encompasses the entire bluff west of the Robb CG. The Visitor Center is reached after a steep drive to the top of the bluff. There is a small CG adjacent to the Center, but has only a few level pads. For the best views down into the east facing 1000 foot deep canyons, plan your tour in the morning

This area can be very hot and working air conditioning is a huge help. Most sites had a covered picnic tables. Some sites had shade trees. The normal habitat for this area is desert sage brush. So all the trees and grass are courtesy of transplanting and heavy watering.
Speaking of water and watering. The water is definitely hard. I would not fill my fresh water tank up with this and will flush my system with better water later. I'm not certain why they are on an everyday watering schedule, but they are, and you will want to find the sprinkler heads and not put anything in their path that you don't want to clean hard water deposits off of.
No wifi, cell was good but slow, free showers at this time, shower house had working laundry

We stayed the weekend of July 23rd. This is a very nice campground! The park staff keeps up on everything and are always busy cleaning and making sure everybody has what they need. There is a fishing pond and the Colorado river runs right next to the park. They have a really great dump station. The park was full but it did not feel packed at all. Right outside of the main entrance there are plenty of restaurants and gas stations. The city of Fruita is right across the highway and just a few minutes away. For being so close too town we did not feel like we were city camping at all and did not notice any road noise. If I had a complaint it is that Colorado State parks charge a parking / day use fee even if you have paid for camping and that was $9 per day. If you arrive after hours there is a kiosk to pay for your parking pass, it is hard to notice at night. We will stay here again next time we are in town.

We love staying here as a stop (sometimes a night or multiple) while driving west.
My only advise is that this area is very hot in the summer and we struggled in late June. Our site had minimal tree coverage so something to consider during those months.
Depending where you are, you can hear the noise from i70 or the other main road that takes you to Colorado National Monument. Make sure to pick a site inwards and towards the clubhouse or little lake.

The landing pad is paved with a crushed stone patio, covered picnic table and a fire pit. The sites are surrounded by grass and natural vegetation. Our site, #17, was nestled in the trees and had plenty of shade. Some other sites are more open. The park is very well maintained. There is a beautiful river walk, pond, boat launches, and lots of green space. There’s a laundry available, although we didn’t use it. Some sites are full hook-ups, others are water and electric only, so check the site map before you book. There is a dump station. We had 2 bars on T-mobile service. There is no WiFi. Close to Colorado National Monument entry station and the town of Fruita. We will stay here again the next time we travel on I70.

We were going to accept all of that without writing a negative review until we were trying to pack up at 10 am and got completely annihilated by the sprinkler system!!! We cannot stand anywhere near our vehicle without getting very wet.
Very frustrating experience. Especially considering the cost to stay here. And we wanted to love it. The park is great and well maintained!
