If you want peace and quiet, miles of hiking trails, and the most wonderful hosts, this is your spot. Truly our most favorite yet, by far.

The campsites are amazing! Gravel pads. FHU. A huge shade pavilion with a privacy screen on the side and a steady breeze that made it comfortable to be outside even in the upper 80s. Multiple hammock hooks in the pavilion allowed you to always be in the shade. Beautiful views, including the Milky Way at night. Excellent Verizon signal. And, friendly hosts. It would be an excellent place to get away and write a book or work remotely for a while. There are also a few short trails right on the property that are well marked. There is no bathhouse which may account for the very reasonable site fees.
Things to do in the immediate area were somewhat limited. It was about a 25-30 minute drive to the Pinhoti Trail at Bulls Gap which was pretty overgrown a mile or two in. Another day we went to the Odom Trail at the High Falls Trailhead (about 30 min. away). There wasn't much of a waterfall at this time of year, but the trail was mostly shaded, so we were able to get a couple of miles in there. Ashland is a very cute town with an historic looking square. There was a coffee shop/bookstore on the square, but not sure if it had gone out of business because we never saw it open.
The campground has about 8 huge campsites. 4 of them appear to be rented longer-term with a couple seeming to be weekend get-away spots. All were very tidy with the exception of 1. The privacy screen on the shade pavilion was very helpful in that case. The campground was very quiet which was wonderful. There are also bird feeders and hummingbird feeders by the pavilions and it was a real treat to sit in a hammock and watch so many hummingbirds flitting around.

The have nice trails on the property and their dog Nellie will most likely join you as she roams the property freely and loves to lead the way. Not much nearby besides a Dollar General and a Piggly Wiggly but being away from all the luxuries is what makes this place what it is; an escape from the craziness. Worth the drive out here.
I use T-Mobile home internet to work remotely and I was able to 2 out of 5 bars but it was very inconsistent. As for cell service, it varied on each site from 1 bar up to 5 bars of service. The property owner uses T-Mobile internet for personal use and in their office for public use so it just depends on where you are standing.

We were looking for just a get away with camping friends. Just quiet and peaceful to chill and play games.
The sites are situated on top of hill overlooking a ridge of mountains. Constant breeze.
But the best thing is all it sites have pavilions with privacy wall and picnic table so shade isn’t an issue. All sites seem level and are granite gravel.
The owners are sweet as they can be. Campers themselves, they designed it the way they would like it to be.
Trails for hiking are moderate and rocky, but we took the challenge and enjoyed it!

There aren't enough adjectives to describe the beauty and peace of Frank's Point of View Campground. Perched on top of a mountain with stunning views of Talladega National Forest in the distance, Frank's Point of View gives you an unparalleled experience of serenity, peace, and quiet. In addition to the amazing sunset views, each campsite comes with its own covered shelter that provides you shelter from the weather and privacy from your neighbors. We were in site 5 in our 2022 Grand Design Momentum 397thr, and we had a double carport, so the motorcycle and picnic table were under one bay and the truck in its own spot under the carport. Gary and Tricia are excellent hosts, along with Millie (their sweet dog) who does her best to make you and your four-legged friends feel welcome.
Ashland, AL is adorable, with tons of hiking and scenic drives not far away in the Talladega National Forest. Be sure and check out Monte Alban (Mexican restaurant) in Ashland or Farmhouse & Co. in Lineville, AL (5 miles from Ashland) -- so good!!
Pros:
-- 50 amp, full hook up
-- covered carport for your vehicle, privacy from neighbors
-- only 8 sites
-- price cannot be beat for what you get -- peace, quiet, and unparalleled views -- to be honest, they should charge more!
-- trash bins located right next to your site and routinely emptied
-- 3 miles of hiking trails on the property
-- bird feeders and hummingbird feeders (actively used) at each site
-- campground office/store with pool table, card table, book exchange, and several homemade goods (peach jam is AMAZING!) and other items for sale
-- extremely courteous, as well as discrete, camp hosts
Cons:
I hesitate to even call this a con, but something to acknowledge. The campground is located at the end of a long gravel road with a few steep hills about 1/2 way through the drive. We did not have to put our truck in 4-wheel drive in order to make it up the driveway, but we also were sure to take it slow and keep our tires rolling the whole time while pulling the camper. Check out our driving video (linked above) to see what we're talking about.
Bottom line -- we would stay there again in a heartbeat! Our time at Frank's Point of View will always stand out as a highlight of our time on the Pilgrimage.

Scary to get here. A very narrow paved road followed by a very steep gravel road. Once here the view is amazing. Full hookups, playground, pool table. Only 8 sites.

Breathtaking views, immaculate grounds, family fun. There is a swing set, corn hole, and horseshoes for the kids. All sites have a sun canopy over the picnic table, a fire pit, and full hook ups. Be aware that all sites except site #8 have hammock hooks on the canopy. The owners’ dog, Nellie, roams around and is an awesome hostess. She was so friendly and loved the kids. Our dog made friends quickly and we looked forward to seeing her throughout the day. My family and I will definitely be booking here again in the near future!
