This is a gigantic campground and a lot of nice upkeep - swimming pools, tennis/pickleball, etc. A nice lake in the middle with a small beach and fishing. Our spot, G22, was huge. See photos. Could have been a bit better upkeep. Private though because of the hills on each side. Laundry worked, bathrooms were OK. A great looking campground. Easy in and out for big rigs. There are a lot of walking trails around the campground, also used by ATVs (Would be great if they were marked!). Our spot had some road noise, but nothing terrible. In the G Section, as you get closer to the entrance, the road noise would be closer. Very good T-Mobile service. This campground is about one hour mostly interstate straight shot to the airport.

Not at all as shown on their website. There are lots of unkept full timer spots, dogs running free and children kicking balls into cars. Not a place that felt calm and relaxing.

We love staying at this park. Very big and lots are spacious enough. There’s a field area you can park at that kids love to play in and the playground, pool, and arcade room are close to it as well. The food at their restaurant is really good and reasonably priced as well.

G secction was very quiet and bordered on the woods so I enjoyed my stay there, it was full sun and partl level but I had to use several blocks. For some reason the drainage in the center of the road looked like it had caved in so there were several barracades around the grates, easy enough to navigate around them.

This resort is very large with many wooded sites. They are spacious, and most have fire pits. There is a camp store and restaurant. The gate controls security at the front. Very safe and peaceful. We will be back soon.

Stayed here 3 nights/4 days. It is a good sized park. Looks like they are doing some upgrades/expansion but far enough away from all the camping so it didn't impact my stay. When I arrived they asked if I wanted an escort to my as my assigned spot was full so she just gave me a spot 2 slips down. Hooked up electric and had 114v and 120v for my 50 amp RV. Water pressure was 52 psi. Sewer was a little up hill but was able to work as it was still below my RV. The site was pretty level. Cell strength was good Sprint FMCA MiFi 86Mbps down / 54Mbps up, Verizon cellphone 49Mbps down and 10Mbps up. Had a wonderful stay. The pools, they had 2, were very nice - clean and warm. They have a large clubhouse with video games and another clubhouse at the second pool. there are a good amount of annual slip owners here and lots of golf cart use. They even have golf carts for rent. the roads are a mix of asphalt (near the front) and grave (the rest of the park). There are a few potholes but nothing crazy like I have seen in other parks. All the campers were friendly and respectful of others. The staff was very nice.

We intended to stay here for 2 different 14 day periods but had to leave early. We believe the massive cell tower right across the street was making us feel awful. We left the area several times and we all felt fine being away from it. Wish we could have stayed, we love the campground otherwise, but we will not return.

Free through Thousand Trails. Had to try out 2 different spots, we didn't like the first one they recommended due to a retaining wall and not much view. 2nd site, 28 had plenty of space. Nice park would stay again.l

Campground Name: Forest Lake RV & Camping Resort
Location: Advance, NC
Overall Campground Rating (1-5): 4
Maneuverability*: Around the park was fine but getting in our site was somewhat difficult due to ditches on the sides of the road we needed to avoid while swinging our trailer in.
Campground Notes: We were there over Halloween and they had a lot of nice events: scavenger hunt, crafts, and a trunk-or-treat.
Site #: C16
Site Rating (1-5): 2
Site Notes: C16 is a long site but very uneven; our trailer tongue was almost on the ground to get level. Sewer connections are not threaded and our neighbor was not using a donut and their connection was only a few feet from our door and smelled frequently. It was nice to be up on a hill as we were hit by tropical storm Zeta and we were high and dry. The Yadkin River rose over 20 feet, flooding the primitive camping area and threatening the lowest spots on the E loop.
Amenity Rating (1-5): 4
Amenity Notes: The playground there is very nice. There is an indoor arcade and café that were open but we didn’t try them. There are two pools and hot tubs but were closed for the season when we were there. There is also a lake with a beach for swimming. Laundry was nice, cheap, but small – three washers but only 2 working dryers. Mini-golf was not in great shape as is typical with most Thousand Trails.
Reason for camping here: Recommended by other campers and on our way down south for the winter.
Miscellaneous Notes: Nearby activities we went to were Boone’s cave which was a nice, short hike, Tanglewood Park which was beautiful and had some fun mountain and paved bike trails, and the Dinosaur Playground in Washington Park which was a lot of fun for Zach and his friend we met at the campground, Izzy. Lots of grocery options in Mocksville or Lexington.
Dates Stayed: 10/25/2020 - 11/8/2020
Price Paid: $0, with Thousand Trails membership
Weather: Tropical storm Zeta hit us while were staying there but generally the weather was nice, in the low 70s during the day and the 40s at night
Verizon Cell Quality**: Very good Verizon; averaged 37.4 Mb/s down and 13.4 Mb/s up. Tried the campground Wi-Fi and only got .68 Mb/s down and 2.38 Mb/s up.
Mail: Campground charges $5/package for mail so we used an Amazon locker in Mocksville, NC. Fellow campers also had success using General Delivery to the USPS in Mocksville.
* For reference we are pulling a 33’ long Jayco travel trailer with a 2016 F350 Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 which is 22’ with hitch giving us a total length of 55’.
**For reference we have two Google Pixel 2 XL on Verizon ‘Play More” unlimited data plans. For data we have an Inseego 8800L on Verizon’s expired prepaid unlimited hotspot plan. In areas of low signal we use a Netgear 6000450 MIMO antenna. Measurements are taken using the “Multi” test on Speedtest by Ookla.

Lots of shade, much more space and very level. Our neighbors were also quite friendly. The C loop bathroom was dirty, whereas the A loop bathroom was clean and well-maintained. This park has a large scenic lake and nice little beach area. The onsite restaurant was good and we particularly enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger. Sad to say that the kitchen staff was not wearing masks though. No wifi at the sites but my AT&T cell phone had 3 bars and the hotspot worked ok. The clubhouse had reduced hours due to Covid-19. Close to shopping and groceries in Lexington.
