The campground is open but water is off and washrooms locked. However there are no camping fees. Good open campground with plenty of level sites.

First, to clarify the previous comments on the cement barriers- there are 2 sections to the campground. The lower, closer to the lake section has no concrete guides to the sites. However the sites are small. Our 28 foot, bumper to ball, trailer would fit but we would have had to disconnect the truck and park it along side. The upper section does have longer sites but they do have the low (6 inch high) concrete outlines to the sites. We parked in one without any great problem and did not have to disconnect.
The camp host site was vacant and there were no pay slips in the box so we did not pay. Since we would have only paid $3.50 with our senior pass, it wasn’t because we were trying to save money.
The bathrooms (which we did not use) were clean and had new toilet paper rolls so someone is tending them.
It was a beautiful location with view of the reservoir especially from the upper section.

Our site #24, had an unobstructed view of the reservoir.
Previous reviews mention short sites, concrete barriers making maneuvering difficult, and old and needing updated. I saw NONE of these as issues. I can't speak to the bathrooms, we did not use them, but they were lite at night. We drove around the sites easily and backed our 22'TT into our site with ease. There was a picnic table, grill, and shade/ wind structure. Our fire pit was a hole in the ground with rocks around it.
We watched Osprey, pelicans, and various other bitds.
Dump station $3. But no potable water.
$3.50 per night with our senior access pass.
Definitely keeping this on our list!!

The plus side first...great location, dump station, trash bins, nice boat ramp, both flush & pit toilets, easy access to get to, picnic tables with Wyoming low maintenance shade, some fire pits/grill grates, spots seem fairly level but most are narrow.
Down side.. the road is narrow and if you have anything over 30ft then it's really not for you.
These spots are not for the modern size RV and trucks and toads. There is no room to park your tow vehicle, extra vehicle/ trailer. If your bumper pull, might be tricky in some areas on the route around. There are big concrete blocks that line the space that are ready to connect with you and/or your vehicles. No trees or shade.
There was a fifth wheel in a spot and if we had our trailer on, there would be no way we could have gotten by him. The front of his trailer was encroaching into the road.
BLM could easily take some space out and make pull thru, wider back end, widen the road and make some pull ins and make room for extra vehicles with these spaces since you charge for it. These changes would make the campground usable and earn its keep easily.
Overgrown in most of the campground.

Campsites are close to the water but not right on it. Cattle roam the campsites, as well as cottontail rabbits. The sites in the lower loop are a bit short so you'll probably want the upper loop for your big 5'vr (we didn't look at that look but there were several medium-to-large 5th wheels there.
There was a spot signed for a campground host but no host was present.
No T-Mobile cell service but we did get slow, roaming internet with the local rural provider.

We stopped by this spot on our way towards Teton and Yellowstone NP. Was a perfect spot for just an overnight. On 7/6/20, we were the ONLY ones in the lower campground besides a teardrop! Incredible for us Californians! Here are some facts:
1) Access of the road is INCREDIBLY easy! Good for all sized rigs! Larger rigs would do better in the upper campground area, though. Sites are asphalt and pretty level. We did need to do some leveling, but that's mostly just because I have a perfectionist husband. ;)
2) There is a self-service pay station: select the campsite you want, note it's number, obtain envelope at pay station, fill it out, tear off stub and place in envelope with money and place in deposit box @ self service pay station, display recept on rig/car dash **There is a 14 day limit for camping**
3) If you are a member of the Golden Age or Golden Access Passport, you will be charged half price
4) This area is INCREDIBLY windy - I imagine ALL times of year! So be prepared for this! Although there are very cool looking arched metal picnic table covers, even in early July they didn't totally protect us from wind when attempting to use our portable bbq -- although we WERE thankful for such covers!
5) The view of the Fontanelle Reservoir is lovely! We enjoyed sightings of pelicans, seagulls of some kind (?), lots of White-Tailed Prairie Dogs ("Chiselers"), and ducks during our evening overlooking the reservoir. For a one nighter with a water view, this is amazing! We predict this campground is empty most of the year with the wind-factor, but we would totally stay here again for simply a lovely spot to hang out for a one-nighter!
6) Since the place was so empty, we didn't even note our site #! But we stayed in the lower campground area closer to the reservoir. The higher up you go, the more highway noise you will hear. But honestly it is so windy you might not even notice!
7) There IS a dump and trash located closer to the waterfront and boat landing. We found this to be incredibly handy!
8) Favorite thing about this campground is EASY ACCESS from highway!
9) Least favorite thing about this campground is VERY WINDY!
10) PERFECT for just one nighter with ZERO issues getting a spot! Even in summer!

I don’t think the water at sites is for drinking? Pit toilets were clean and tidy, not all were open. It’s very overgrown could do with a mow. We stayed in C Class 26 foot.

It's a large, barren campground next to the highway. All sights are lined with concrete slab barriers making it somewhat tight and ugly. No trees, but tables are covered. There is the reservoir view to cheer things up. The dump site ($3) has the narrowest access I've ever seen, very awkward.
