Great campground. Water and electric but no sewer. Campground does have a shower house but I didn’t visit it. There is a dump station at the exit. Gate closes at 10:00 PM. Roads are paved and site as level and had a concrete patio. Lots of trees throughout. We were right by the lake front. Cell signal was good for AT&T.

This was our first camping trip to Flat Rock. The site are spacious and clean. The views are outstanding. Lots of downed trees to rummage for the fire.
We had lots of fun while in the area. There is birding, fishing, boating and swimming(during warmer months).
The downside to Flat Rock is the shower. The bathroom is clean and stocked with amply TP. The accommodations are all set with three toilet stalls and three shower stalls. The showers are the type where you push the button and the water runs for three or so minutes. I overcame the shutoff by continually pushing the button BUT the water was only warm. Warm is better than cold but not warm enough for me.
Also we wished for some hiking trails from the campground but all the land around appears to be lease land for hunting so we shied away from getting off into the woods near our camp. We did find quite a number of trails near us at Sequoyah State Park just 25 minutes south.
I think all the site at this campground have great views. I am partial to site 24.

Thursday evening more RVs rolled in with kids and they were pretty loud. I love kids, so I didn't mind. Site 15 is close to bathrooms that are heated with flush toilets and showers. Also large dumpsters for trash. Not sure if showers are hot - didn't look or try. Water and electrical hook up. Free dump when leaving. Camp hosts have been here for a while and very friendly. Gates close at 10 pm and reopen at 6 am. Site 15 also has front view of whole lake, while site 11, lake was behind me. Verizon service very good and ran hotspot with four devices - no problem; AT&T only one bar but no problems with phone calls, texting, etc.

We stayed at Flat Rock the week before Labor Day. Our site was easy to back into and access, paved with cement table, grill, fire pit, lantern pole with shelf, and a pole/shelf for a portable grill or stove. Sites were nicely spaced. The grounds were well maintained by volunteers and the staff. The area had a bad wind storm over the summer and there was plenty of wood around to scavenge for firewood. Quiet and serene, the campground is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the lake and its natural settings. Great place for birding or fishing. Our only exception was that we visited family one evening and returned after 10 pm, the park closes at 10 however we did not expect a locked gate when we returned. We were able to park our vehicle and walk to our site, however it would have been nice if there were signs or information given us when checking in letting us know this. That being said, it is nice to know they care about the security of the campers.
