Got here around 3:30. No one else here. Easy access, nice little pond at first camp site. Clean outhouse. Trail to river. All pull in sites. Slight highway noise and could hear occasional train passing on the other side of the river, not to intrusive. Light local traffic of fishermen?

A couple others staying for the same reason we did. Trains, yes like others have mentioned, but far enough away it wasn’t disruptive. Had very small no see-um gnats find their way through our window screens after dark. With lights off, they weren’t an issue. If you need a quick overnight spot, this is a good one. Free too!

Came here 8/26 and stayed 7 nights. I grabbed the first spot after the pond, and before the turn to the other sites, This has the most shade of any. Not much going on unless you have a boat. But good to kick back and relax. Closest town to get anything would be Forsythe which is half hour away. Bring a fly swatter...brutal.

Easy access from interstate. The sites are set up around a single loop. I’m in a 31’ RV towing a Jeep and had no problem. It’s very peaceful, I can’t hear any road traffic but can hear the train in the distance.

Nice free clean place to stay. Not to far of the highway. No shade. Can hear the train rolling down the tracks and blow its whistle in the distance. Lots of bugs, but it’s August. Would stay here again.

Nice and clean with big sites. Easily pullled into a spot at night and stayed hooked up to the truck. It was a little difficult to find at night, we missed the sign at first ended up at the boat launch, then back tracked to the campground.

There was two campsites left when I arrived in the evening, so I’d say you’re chances are pretty good at finding a site even on the weekends.
However, it seemed that it’s a local Saturday night hotspot as the main camping area was full and busy. There were a lot of loud trucks coming and going. It got much better after 10. I was also surprised at the high humidity for being eastern MT. My review likely would be 5/5 if I stayed on a weekday.

We drove past the designated campsites, to the boat launch. Took a walk down and saw a large open spot right on the river. Probably not supposed to camp here, but there’s clearly been activity. Really cool if you can snag it.

There’s 10 spots in the camping area then an additional 2 by the boat launch. Vault toilet was stocked and clean. Game warden drove by during my stay making sure trash wasn’t left out, etc. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Most spots are open with direct sunlight (good for solar) and the sites can accommodate most rigs since they are small - large. Had full LTE service via AT&T. There’s a delicious drive thru coffee place 12 min away called Cattle Coffee in Forsyth. Definitely worth the trip! There’s no trash, no electric and no water.
